Venus and Mars Declare Friendship – May 8-15 2019

This week Saturn and Pluto are energized by the Sun in a trine aspect, while the Moon transits from the self-protective sign of Cancer through a quarter of the zodiac of social oriented signs and into Libra to attempt to make just decisions. In the gathering of social data, analyzing trends in opinions and preferences, an emphasis on the impact of public opinion seems relevant. From the conjunction of Mercury and Uranus on the 8th of May, and as Mars transcends the opposition aspect with Jupiter, there is less a sense of opposition in government factions- a more goal oriented stance becomes dominant. Mars prepares to move into Cancer on the 15th of May, while Venus joins the planets in Taurus. While Mars is not so pro-active in Cancer, a “yin” sign, the action of care and nurturing becomes the goal. Venus is at home in Taurus, also a “yin” sign, working with Mars in a sextile aspect to regain momentum. Mercury trine aspect to the midpoint of the Saturn and Pluto conjunction resolves some of the intractable problems concerning authority and economic distress.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday May 8thThe Moon in Cancer is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to the Mercury and Uranus conjunction aspect (0 deg- combining) in Taurus early today, softening the some of the effects of the volatile MercUranus conjunction. The Mercury and Uranus conjunction is partile (aspect of exact degree) as Mercury the messenger relates and analyses information that Uranus (all electronic devices) might impart. Earthquake warning systems could be updated with a new possibility of early detection. More could be learned now about Earth and environmental ecology including climate change. Venus in Taurus is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the midpoint of Saturn and Pluto conjunction, as early warning systems alert inhabitants to possible disaster. The Sun in Taurus is in a sextile aspect to Neptune in Pisces, indicating fortuitous events that provide for health and safety. The predominance of earth sign transits indicates that practical steps are successful in securing the future.

Thursday May 9th – The Sun in Taurus is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Neptune in Pisces. The Moon transits the sextile aspect to the Sun as well as trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Neptune. The Sun gives us light and vital energy, and may rescue those in danger today. Storms or flooding plague many, and relief is on the way. The Moon in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Venus could trigger more empathy.  At the end of the day, however, the Moon is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Saturn in Cap, possibly a worsening of the situation for those who are affect by strife. The opposition aspect to Pluto follows for more tension in power (Pluto) personalities and resources (earth).

Friday May 10th – The Moon ingress to Leo early in the day, forming square aspects (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus and Mercury and a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Chiron in Aries. The square aspects in fixed signs (Taurus and Leo) indicate disagreements that are emotionally trying. Finding solutions involves the creative will (Leo trine Aries) to overcome blockage or disagreements. The Sun in Taurus is trine aspect to Saturn in Cap, as authority is meted in a reasonable and smooth manner. It happens that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has in her natal chart Uranus and Venus at 19 and 20 deg Taurus, respectively. Her words today would be authoritative and well spoken.

May 11-12 2019
First Quarter Moon Phase

Saturday May 11th – The Moon in Leo square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury in Taurus early in the day as pride and desires collide. Social status is undergoing a change, and the meaning of status itself is transformed in a social catharsis (Saturn and Pluto in Cap). Mars in Gemini receives the sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) of Venus doubly approaching, also a sextile aspect from the Moon in Leo. A grandtrine in Leo could be active for some folks with natal planets in the third decant of fire signs. Enjoyment is easy and contagious today. We might just forget the troubles of the world and enjoy the day. At the 1st quarter Moon phase, about 9 PM EDT, (See chart insert) the Moon is trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Jupiter and Venus, bringing together the two beneficent planets for a flagrant evening, as Rome burns as the saying goes. The Moon in Leo and a square aspect to the Sun in Taurus, is symbolic of the flagrant self-indulgence of the evening. The combined effect of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn trine aspect to the Sun in Taurus, could keep us grounded in reality, or we’ll suffer the consequences (heavy hang-over). The Sun in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Jupiter in Sag could warn the revelers of idealistic commitments, however there is ambivalence here. The Moon in Leo is fun-loving, but may reflect on the limitations in the quincunx aspect to Saturn in Cap. Remember your diet, and if not your diet, at least your vows.

Sunday May 12thVenus in Aries is still applying to the helpful sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Mars in Gemini, as personal relations continue to be enjoyably good. The Moon transits into Virgo in the early afternoon, as we seek more practical activities that are health oriented. Recovery is necessary now. The Moon trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Uranus in Taurus seeks remedial steps as urgency could require attention to the reversals we are confronting.

Monday May 13th – The Moon in Virgo is in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mercury in Taurus as we get to work on details. The Moon then is in an opposition aspect (180, tense) to Neptune in Pisces. Giving of time and expertise is a form of charity. However, efforts may be drained by psychic phenomenon. The trine aspect to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn come later in the day, as planning for strategic moves becomes clearer, helping to work through blocked energy. Fears are overcome by focusing on procedural moves. A grandtrine in earth signs evolves as the Moon is in a trine aspect to the Sun in Taurus and also a trine aspect to Pluto. Transfer of goods and services through cooperation with compatible agencies is favored. The Moon is then in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter in Sagittarius as well, increasing the power of the physical actions and possibly the rewards as well. Gain on the material level in indicated.

Tuesday May 14th – Friendships and compatibility are everywhere today, with Venus in Aries is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Mars in Gemini. Mars is also the dispositor of Venus, so that kindness goes a long way. The Moon in Virgo is in a sharp square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mars for a couple of hours in mid-day. Overly-eager actions may be rebuked. Remember your manners and political correctness!  The Moon moves into Libra and an opposition aspect to Chiron. We may oblige our partners, but also listen to that inner voice of wisdom. A quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Uranus could set us on a different path. The Moon’s dispositor (while the Moon is in the sign Libra) is Venus. Venus ingress to Taurus today, and in the sign of its second rulership, as enjoyment and partnership are surely rewarded.

Have a great week!
