This winter week begins with the Sun in Aquarius and Moon in Aries. There is initiative with the Aries Moon to further your personal agenda, while the like-minded appeal of a social group (Aquarius) may be also associated with your work and identity (Sun). Uniting others in the path for greater universal appeal, you can come forward as an advocate or a supporter. Mars and Uranus in Aries are focused on the change and initiating a new direction, in business or government, or in personal success initiatives. This may be a week for risk taking. However social support is necessary to your success.
I was fortunate to be able to attend a like-minded workshop in astrology for few days in sunny Goa, India. We enjoyed getting acquainted with the local sites as well as or sessions with a leading speaker on astrological matters, Rick Levine (honorable mention for Rick).
Summary of major aspects of the week:
Wednesday February 1st – Shortly after it enters Aries, the Moon meets with Mars, the ruler of the sign. Initiatives for the current cycle can be planned with some accuracy now, as the goals are well defined. With six planets and Chiron in Universal Signs (Sagittarius –Pisces) and Mars, Moon, Uranus and Ceres in Aries, personal initiative to advance social reform reaches a high point. Relationships (Libra) are expanding (Jupiter), and include different stripes. New associations and strange bedfellows unite under a common flag.
Thursday February 2nd – The Moon transits Uranus and Ceres today, possibly coinciding with increasingly vocal protests. An opposition to Jupiter and a square aspect to Mercury in Capricorn gain the attention of officials who may react with announcements to settle the issues in question. The Moon trine aspect to Saturn could be an indication that restrictions are eased. The Moon square aspect to Mercury is a more sudden or forceful reaction that could indicate an unexpected reversal of policy.
Friday February 3rd – The Moon in Taurus today is a more down to earth remedial action phase of the cycle. We start to see results, with slight earthy shifting of rhetoric with the Moon sextile to Neptune, as the undermining of standard approaches reaches a turning point. Venus moves into Aries, as the shift is underway. The value (Venus ) of working with the marriage partner (Libra) is affirmed in action and petitions for reform (goal directed Aries energy).
Saturday February 4th – The Moon is trine to the planets in Capricorn today, as Mercury and Pluto get recognition in like for aligning values with action. Hard decisions are made easy when the results are so overwhelming. The Moon is in a sextile aspect to Chiron as healing gets underway.
Sunday February 5th – The Moon forms a sextile (60 deg) aspect with Venus and Mars in Aries. The readjustments of policy continue as pressure comes from world governing bodies such as the UN, EU or NATO. One man policy leadership begins to dissolve as the Moon is in a square aspect (90 deg – harsh) to Neptune. Chiron quincunx aspect (150 deg) to Jupiter reaffirms the majority.
Monday February 6th – The Moon continues in Gemini, forming a trine (120 deg) aspect to the Sun, a quincunx aspect (150 deg) to Pluto and to Chiron. This puts greater complexity into the mix, as the possibility of lifting the lid, so to speak, of oppression becomes a closer reality. Mercury in a square aspect (90 deg-harsh) to Ceres speaks out (Mercury is a communicator) in the hope of some redeeming support. As the trine to Jupiter will occur later, there are a few hours of feeling everything will be okay, with the Grand Trine in air element. The situation calls for a response from like-minded political movements. As the Moon is trine to Jupiter and sextile to Uranus, Jupiter turns retrograde, as again a seismic shift in policy is underway. The Moon opposes Saturn in a final stand to maintain power. If one is unable to adjust and modify positions, disaster will certainly strike.
Tuesday February 7th – The Moon enters protective Cancer, the sign she rules, just hours before Mercury enters Aquarius, with a quincunx aspect between the Moon and Mercury. A change of heart is always possible. Jupiter doubly approaches the opposition with Uranus, and now is closer to a quincunx aspect to Chiron. Social activism is able to penetrate the thickest walls.
