Overview
This week leads up to the full Moon in Leo, on February 16. The developing crisis reaches a climax, a possible resolution, or a prideful stand-off. Each side must be given space to express his or her position. The Ideal cannot be reached without compromise. This week, with a stellium in the sign Capricorn, with Mars and Venus making a conjunction aspect while Mercury and Pluto form a second conjunction within the stellium. Identity and professional accreditation could be issues, such as Pride and Prejudice, while the Sun in Aquarius is disposed of by Uranus in Taurus, indicating practical issues of security are at stake. The Moon transits from Gemini to Leo, opposing the stellium in Capricorn as it transits Cancer from Saturday until Monday, then ingress to Leo. Mercury ingress to Aquarius Monday evening or early morning on Tuesday.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday February 9th — The Moon begins its lonely transit of the celestial space of the zodiac unoccupied by planets this week. Today the ingress to Gemini begins her journey. Gemini, is a sign of duality, a mutable sign and changeable. Ruled by Mercury, the fleet-footed messenger, the Gemini Moon can move fast, predicable in its changeability. The lunar orb absorbs the qualities of the sign of its domicile. Quick thinking, quick talking Gemini is difficult to pin down. Ceres ingress to Gemini today, has some thinking of new forms for redemption. The Moon makes a sextile aspect to Chiron in Aries late in the day, or morning on the 10th in the eastern hemisphere, and a simultaneous square aspect to Jupiter in Pisces. Your choice may be reasonable but seems to go against the flow. You may need that inner voice to compensate, helping you to adjust to the social environment. Economic policies are impacted with government restrictions indicated by Mars in Cap trine aspect to Uranus in Taurus.
Thursday February 10th — The two pairs of planets within the stellium in Capricorn are prominent today. Mars keeping pace with Venus until mid-March. Mars and Venus in Capricorn seek perfection in relationships. The dispositor is Saturn in Aquarius, loving freedom and autonomy. The Moon is in quincunx aspects to Mars and Venus for a more creative intervention. Mercury direct is poised to make its third conjunction aspect with Pluto, having transited Pluto on December 30th, and again on January 30th in the retrograde phase. This third transit helps to resolve issues pertaining to the communication of status, control and autonomy. The Winter Olympic events showcase achievements of skill, often in the conquest of the elements and natural laws. The Moon makes a trine aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, channeling emotional content and also preserving home territory. The Sun is in a semi-sextile aspect to Neptune late in the day (US time zones), overnight in the eastern hemisphere; a reduction in power calls for a readjustment. Transiting Moon in a square aspect to Neptune and trine aspect to the Sun favors re-energizing.
Friday February 11th — Mars inches closer to Venus in Capricorn, while Mercury reaches partile with Pluto in Capricorn. Claims of intent and power reach a climatic level, with the Moon in Gemini quincunx aspect to Pluto and Mercury. Each side gathers forces, preparing for a contest. Understanding the opponent’s viewpoint is necessary for resolution as the two sides dig in, refusing to act or to retreat. The Moon ingress to Cancer late in the day, prompting a temporary retreat.
Saturday February 12th — The Moon in Cancer is trine aspect to Jupiter in Pisces, in situations of conflict, one may intuit the possibility that injury is inflated for sympathy. Self-esteem is controlled by inner sense of justification, with Chiron and the Moon in a square aspect. The Moon is then sextile aspect to Uranus in Taurus, as boundaries could be broken, prompting a retreat. Jupiter is also approaching a sextile aspect with Uranus, with shared interests a unifying factor. Mars approaches within 1-degree orb of a conjunction aspect with Venus in Capricorn, before Venus regains speed in transit. The Moon in Cancer reaches the opposition point of the pair, drawing the two together for a shared experience. Love of home, honor and family prevail.
Sunday February 13th — The Moon in Cancer is trine aspect to Neptune in Pisces as intuition and sensitivity combine to further interpersonal understanding. Late in the day, Monday morning in the eastern hemisphere, the Moon make an opposition aspect to Pluto in Cap. The Moon, in the water sign Cancer, seeks to reform the powerful forces in the earth sign Capricorn. Strategic choices could dismantle power. Venus/Mars conjunction aspect is sextile aspect to the midpoint of Neptune and Jupiter, humanizing leaders to bring about a detente. The Moon in a quincunx aspect to the Sun in Aquarius challenges the vision of the future to restore order.
Monday February 14th — The Moon is in an opposition aspect to Mercury at its ingress to Leo, as it reflects the changing power, adapting to situations with insightful reporting, as Mercury ingress to Aquarius overnight. The Moon makes a trine aspect to Chiron in Aries and a square aspect to Uranus in Taurus, reversing expectations, as reassessments are made. Mars and Venus draw closer together on this day celebrating love.
Tuesday February 15th — The Moon in Leo is quincunx aspect to the Mars/Venus conjunction aspect in Capricorn as Mars closes to a tight conjunction of only 5 minutes of a degree of separation before Venus moves ahead on Wednesday morning, as shared experiences and life goals help us move forward. Jupiter in Pisces approaches a sextile aspect with Uranus in Taurus, for volatility in financial markets. The Moon makes the opposition aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, limiting creative expression, possibly adding structure to sporting events, such as Olympic competitions. The full Moon aspect on Wednesday unfurls the most glorious.
