Venus has a major role to play in the current panoply, slowing to a stationary position and retrograde by the end of the week. A harsh square aspect to Mars then comes into force by the 9th of October. This gradual build-up of opposing views in the signs of Scorpio and Aquarius is relevant to the current controversy over a nomination for the SCOTUS. As Venus (feminist view point) turns retro it may be in retreat (however, gathering strength). Mars in Aquarius forcefully moves on. The New Moon on Oct 9th at 15 degrees of Libra, is close to a conjunction with Ceres and a harsh square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. The emerging order (Pluto) is weighed in the balance (Libra) of current morality and that will affect the generations to come (Ceres).
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday October 3rd – The Moon in Cancer forms a T-square configuration, with Cardinal signs, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Libra. Mercury is neutral to the argument, although can become infused with persuasive arguments. Mercury holds the balance of the opposition, and therefore has the role of a mediator or information gatherer. In Libra, the sign of the balance, the arguments are tilting the scale from side to side, seeking a balance. Should there be a nominee that is tainted? Is a generation to be held as a hostage? Where is the true balance? It is not clear that there will be a satisfactory outcome for any involved. The Moon is trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Jupiter in Scorpio for a few hours today, as more review is made, empowering the Cancer Moon. Cancer is the sign of the US as a nation (July 4th natal), as well as an indicator of protection and care of the home and children. Ceres is the dwarf planet associated with care for children and future generations. The change that is pressing forward is for the benefit of the future. The Moon enters Leo late in the day, and in a conflicting square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Taurus. Upsetting revelations continue to build.
Thursday October 4th – The Moon in Leo is in opposition (180 deg, tense) to Mars in Aquarius early in the day, then forms a harsh square aspect (90 deg) to Venus and a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to the Sun. The hard aspect to Mars is combative. The aspect to Venus could erode defensiveness, while the true goal is for balance and equality.
Friday October 5th – Venus in Scorpio turns retrograde today, as a more introspective stance is taken as the value of argument becomes less obvious. The Moon in Leo is sextile (60 deg, friendly) to Mercury and square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter in Scorpio. More persuasive arguments are weighed in the final analysis. The Sun is closely conjunct to Ceres today, as the effect on future generations is powerful. The Moon enters Virgo in the afternoon as details are analyzed for consideration in the decisions we make today, and in a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Uranus in Taurus and to Saturn in Capricorn for a grand–trine configuration as both ease and relief are experienced.
Saturday October 6th– The Moon in Virgo is in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Mars in Aquarius. Concessions must be made for a return to normalcy. The Moon is then in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Venus as encouragement prevents a lapse in emotional strength. The Moon in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) Neptune late in the day, as rescue and assistance operations for earthquake victims get underway. A trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Pluto is empowering for recovery.
Sunday October 7th – The Sun in Libra is in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Neptune in Pisces requiring more creative input for assisting survivors of the earthquake, or for interaction to winners or losers. The Moon in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Jupiter in Scorpio as health and healing response to tragedy expands in speed as detailed reports are made. The Moon enters Libra in the afternoon in opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Chiron. There are doubts as to the ability to adequately address the situation.
Monday October 8th – The Moon in Libra forms a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Saturn in Capricorn late in the day, as the New Moon (conjunction, seed moment) approaches. Requirements are not met. A broken system will not be able to meet expectations, and anger may result. Tragedy cannot be averted today. Venus retro is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mars in Aquarius as accusations fly, anger a discord abound.
Tuesday October 9th – The Moon transits Mercury at 29 deg Libra today, for a lack of balance in media reports. Dismissals may result as the Moon ingress to Scorpio and transits to an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Uranus in Taurus. Reversals are likely to affect courts and the balance of power. Mercury ingress to Scorpio today as well, as the Moon in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Saturn in Capricorn, indicates successful acceptance of order.
