Social and Political Flashpoints – October 30-November 6 2019

Mercury and Venus are in a close conjunction to start this week, while the Moon in Sagittarius transits to conjunct Jupiter on the 31st.  Party time is in full display, as the children are decked out in costume. Mercury turns retrograde on Nov 1st for another five weeks transit in Scorpio. Think well, think deeply and harbor no ill will. With Mars still in Libra, what goes around, comes around. Venus ingress to Sagittarius on Nov 1st also indicates a greater interest in academic freedom, and the Moon transits Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn for increased security.  Mars in Libra square aspect to Saturn as the Moon is conjunct activates power to repel attack. Revenge could be the outcome here, also.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday October 30th – The Venus and Mercury conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) in Scorpio indicates a deeper understanding in relationships, while Mars square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the midpoint (17deg 20 min Capricorn) of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn challenges institutions and power structures in general. Impeachment falls in this category. More fairness in the distribution of care in social services is in order with this aspect. The Moon makes a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces as social protests expand. Ceres is in a conjunction aspect to Jupiter in Sadge as younger generations feel empowered through academic and religious concepts.

Thursday October 31st– The Moon transits Jupiter and Ceres in Sagittarius, as the will to nourish and mentor the younger generations gains priority. New publications for children, for example, are honored. Academic freedom is acclaimed. Children’s parties for the Halloween are exuberant; a peak time for enjoyment, although a challenge for parents with Mars in Libra square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to SaturnPluto in Capricorn.

Friday November 1st – The Moon ingress to Capricorn and trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Uranus in Taurus early in the morning, Mercury turning retro in Scorpio might indicate an unexpected reversal in economic policy, even allowing increased funds for higher education and technical studies with the Venus (the dispositor of Uranus) ingress to Sagittarius. The Moon then is in a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Ketu (S. lunar node) in Capricorn. This can be a spiritual experience as we examine the past.  You could feel in a sense isolated, until you are able to release emotional attachment to the past, and build for a new experience. At this stage of the soli-lunar cycle we need to focus on goals and organizing resources for the future.

Mars square aspect Pluto

Saturday November 2nd – The transiting Moon in Capricorn moves from the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Saturn to the conjunction with Pluto (from the perspective of the Earth) while you are planning to reserve our finances, suddenly expenditures could explode.  Restraint in power becomes explosive with the transit of Pluto as Mars makes a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) from Libra to the MoonPluto conjunction. On a higher level, a transformation can lead to greater self-awareness, greater understanding of the universal powers that determine our destiny. Personal choice can lead to a more advanced level of consciousness. Working within the limits that exist can also lead to a higher level of achievement.

Sunday November 3rd – The Moon in Aquarius could raise the level of the discourse with the sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Venus in Sagittarius. Mars square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Pluto in Capricorn challenges us to transform our alliances such as in political or social groups.  An aspect of impeachment, the orb tightens this week, reaching partile on Tuesday. Saturn in Capricorn, sextile aspect to Neptune in Pisces, another configuration for impeachment, reaches partile on November 9th.  With Venus in Sadge, trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Chiron in Aries, and sextile aspect to the Moon in Aquarius, a rationale exists that is likely to speed the process. The Moon also triggers the release of political resources.

Monday November 4th – As both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are aspected by planetary energies that signify a reduction of power on the one hand, (Neptune sextile Saturn) and a challenge to authority on the other (Mars square Pluto), as Constitutional provisions are also attacked. The crisis point of the soli-lunar waxing cycle is reached. Guidance from court and legislative processes move impeachment closer to reality.

Tuesday November 5th – The Moon makes several aspects early in the day. A trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mars in Libra speeds the initiative with a sense of urgency. A sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Jupiter in Sadge, and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury in Scorpio allow for a lengthy debate, as controversy is prolonged.
