The final days of the soli-lunar cycle bring the dissolution of issues concerning life and, at times, death. A new phase for reproductive rights in the US, a new phase of the war in Ukraine, eastern cities are abandoned to the Russian forces and rockets strike in Kyiv. A new phase in the government of Israel as the parliament is disbanded and new elections called. England’s PM is also facing increasing pressure while in France the PM loses his majority. The seeds for the new Moon have been planted, and at the solstice phase in Cancer, the summer cardinal sign, the current cycle new Moon ushers in a significant watershed moment that has far-reaching consequences, perhaps even a new era. The ensuing month will develop the prominent issues of vital importance for life, personal health and wellbeing, as the new cycle begins in the cardinal lunar sign of Cancer. As the Moon and the Sun progress beyond the bowl formation that has existed for several lunar cycles, we come to grips with the developing problems and outcomes of the decisions and actions taken at the new Moon. On July 7th, the first quarter lunar phase is reached, a time when a developing crisis becomes critical. Looking ahead to the full Moon phase of July 13. The issues of abortion as well as the Jan 6 hearings, will be highlighted. We must relocate ourselves in the present time and place. Saturn in Aquarius calls us to stabilize the future.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday June 29th — The Moon in Cancer separating from the conjunction aspect with the Sun following the powerful new Moon. The Moon is the ruler of Cancer, and now begins to transit through the remaining eleven signs, as the mission instilled becomes apparent. Neptune in Pisces turned retrograde overnight, as reversals in health care were implemented. Neptune remains retro until early December and will ingress Aries only in April of 2025. So, this seems to indicate that there is a lengthy struggle to restore basic rights to much of humanity. There is hope for a renewal, as this moment we are awakened to the injustices that surround us, and we wish to remold our future. Pisces represents the depths of the unconscious from which we draw our instincts, the past and our collective hope for the future. Neptune, Saturn in Aquarius and Pluto in Capricorn are all retrograde, and loosely coordinated, as though the universal Will commands us to unwind, and review before renewing the contract. The Sun in a square aspect to Jupiter in Aries, with more urging for renewal, a change in direction, with Mars in Aries semi–sextile to Neptune and approaching the square aspect to Pluto, reaching perfection on July 1st. The Moon transits to the conjunction aspect with Ceres, as youth are emboldened to speak out. Venus in Gemini is sextile aspect to Jupiter in Aries, and Ceres in Cancer is semi–sextile to Mercury in Gemini, as folks speak out strongly and with conviction.
Thursday June 30th — The Moon in Cancer makes aspects to the retrograde outer planets, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto. The Moon quincunx aspect to Saturn in Aquarius is a sign of discontent with the structure of reform while a trine aspect to Neptune signifies acceptance and satisfaction with going with the vibes. The energy released is contradictory. The Moon in an opposition aspect to Pluto in Capricorn a couple of hours later, could place restraints, as Saturn is the dispositor of Pluto. Law enforcement imposes order on conflicts. As the Moon is in a square aspect to Mars while it is in an opposition aspect to Pluto, a T–square configuration is formed today [see chart image] as though held in the balance for a revolutionary change. There is a new level of urgency, a threat of control in all interpersonal, even private relationships. There is a legal and Constitutional imposition (Pluto) on family life (Cancer) itself, constituting a threat (Mars). The balance is not easy to maintain, as Mars becomes strong, in its home sign of Aries, and threatens to disrupt. It is insightful that power is the real issue here. Are decisions of the SCOTUS absolute? Mars will not have it. Mars is triggered by the square aspect from the Moon in Cancer, strong it her home sign. Personal (Aries) and parental rights (Cancer) are under threat. The Moon ingress to Leo is late in the day, as some seek emotional refreshment thru entertainment.
Friday July 1st — The Moon in Leo is trine aspect to Jupiter in Aries, for calmer, although more coordinated and broader strategic protests. Mars in Aries square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn reaches partile, as protests gaining power are met with force. There could be violence, mass shootings are not outside the realm of possibility, and continued mass casualties in Ukraine. Knee-jerk reactions (Mars in Aries) to new restrictions might set off last minute opportunists. The Moon in a sextile aspect to Venus in Gemini relates to impassioned speech, in attempts to bring the nation together, and calm the situation. Mercury in Gemini is approaching the trine aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, taking power to the air waves.
Saturday July 2nd — The Moon in Leo is square aspect to Uranus in Taurus early today, although following the trine aspect to Chiron in Aries. Explosive issues are often expressed with personal accounts, evoking wisdom as well as angst. The Sun in Cancer with a semi-sextile aspect to Venus in Gemini implores for preparation for future action. The Moon reaches the opposition aspect to Saturn late in the day (US time zones), with the quincunx aspects to Neptune and Pluto following. The powerful external forces are likely to achieve some sense of unity prior to the celebrations for the July 4th holiday. The Moon makes a sextile aspect to Mercury in Gemini, and a trine aspect to Mars in Aries, as debates raise the level of consciousness, and issues become intellectualized.
Sunday July 3rd — The Moon in Virgo makes this a good day for personal analysis and home repairs. Reflections on group involvement are critical, as the Moon makes a quincunx aspect to Jupiter in Aries. The Sun in Cancer is semi-sextile aspect to Venus in Gemini, working out differences of opinion, and exposing cracks in relationships. Emotional reactions (Moon) reform group alliances (Jupiter).
Monday July 4th — The Moon in Virgo is sextile aspect to the Sun in Cancer and square aspect to Venus in Gemini. Amends made can help repair relationships. The Moon in a quincunx aspect to Chiron in Aries and a trine aspect to Uranus in Taurus in the afternoon hours provides for a more enjoyable time, appreciating the comforts we have. Mercury in Gemini and Mars in Aries are sextile in aspect, as conversations are animated, but helpful in moving the forward with critical analysis, as both Mars and Mercury move into the next signs late in the day or overnight, depending on your location on the globe.
Tuesday July 5th — The Moon in Virgo makes the opposition aspect to Neptune in Pisces, as we try to distinguish fact from fantasy, reality from fiction, or injury from psychosis. A lunar quincunx aspect to Saturn precedes the opposition to Neptune, so an element of doubt or consternation accompanies the tragic events of the day. With mass casualties in Ukraine, the US or elsewhere, the Moon trine aspect to Pluto symbolizes the life-saving efforts that are activated. Mars in Taurus is sextile aspect to Mercury in Cancer, indicating an urgent call for assistance. Venus in Gemini, the dispositor of Mars, is semi-sextile to the Sun in Cancer, as mobilized care is implemented.
I hope that you navigate the week successfully and share your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
Reminder: While lunar aspects are in effect only for only a few hours, the aspect of the outer planets can last days and weeks. I post a reading for a day in advance in order to give a preview, and also because the aspects may be in effect a day prior to the exact partile degree.
