Venus and Mars indicate personal relationships and play an important role in diplomacy this week. The positive beginning is indicated by the sextile aspect between Mars and Venus. However, complexity arises that could derail the interests of one or the other or both principals in negotiations. Planets in the fixed signs predominate on Saturday, as the Moon in Scorpio reaches the opposition to Uranus and Mars in Taurus, while soon after Saturn in Aquarius reaches the balance point of the t-square configuration. On Sunday a grand-trine configuration in fire signs develops with the Moon in Sagittarius, Chiron in Aries and the Sun in Leo, as prospects are good for achievement of goals. Mars square aspect to Saturn on Sunday possibly touches off retaliation. Venus in Cancer is in an opposition aspect to Pluto and trine aspect to Neptune on Monday, as more contentious debates resume. China’s Xi is likely to find traction for his conflict with the West, and in alliance with Putin. The Moon in Capricorn on Tuesday makes trine aspects to Uranus and Mars in Taurus, before the conjunction aspect with Pluto. Threats from the strongmen could be expected.
The US strike on Al Qaida leader during the conjunction of Mars/Uranus shows once again that Uranus is a primary significator of the US chart. The Moon in Aquarius is disposed of by Uranus. The administration inauguration on January 20, with the Sun at 0 deg Aquarius.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday August 3rd — Venus in Cancer sextile aspect to Mars in Taurus continues today, as overnight it reached partile. While romantic contacts should be mutual, the Moon in Libra is square aspect to Venus before mid-day (US time zones) and may present obstacles to the friendly nature of the participants. The ingredient of balance and equality should be addressed. Legal qualifications may impact any relationship. The Moon is in an opposition aspect to Chiron in Aries simultaneously, as personal views are challenged, based on wisdom gained from experience. The Moon makes quincunx aspects to Uranus and Mars in Taurus indicating that complex relationships develop. The Moon is square aspect to Venus and then in a trine aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, facilitating a shift in policy or in relationship status. Mars supersedes the conjunction aspect with Uranus in Taurus, and all-in-all we can see a departure from traditional policy. Financial arrangements are given the green (or blue) light. Mercury ingress to Virgo, shifting from the positive drama to practical matters.
Thursday August 4th — The Moon ingress to Scorpio and sextile aspect to Mercury in Virgo, for a good working relationship. Venus in Cancer makes a quincunx aspect to Saturn retro in Aquarius, exposing contradictions in political factions. A crisis develops as the Moon transits toward the first quarter, approaching the square aspect to the Sun in Leo. Mars in Taurus approaches the square aspect to Saturn retro in Aquarius, becoming partile on Sunday as tensions rise.
Friday August 5th — The developing crises are all around. In the fires in California, in the political scene in Washington, in Ukraine and Asia, with threats from Xi as the US House Speaker tours Asia for discussions. The Moon in Scorpio, transiting Nancy Pelosi’s natal Moon, is in aspect to Uranus and Mars in Taurus, a configuration that also appears in Ms. Pelosi’s natal chart, as she steps into this contentious situation. Indeed, if the rhetoric from Xi is prophetic, she may ignite an Asian theater in addition to the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, in which the US, of course, has not taken a combat role. Hopefully, she will be safe, but retaliation could be forth coming. Mars in Taurus doubly approaching the square aspect to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, indicates that aggressive actions will strike a brick wall, even if figuratively, with limits and accountability. The Moon in Scorpio transits in opposition aspect to Uranus and Mars in Taurus, and square aspect to Saturn retro in Aquarius. Retaliation could be now launched, although Saturn would tend to limit the effect of any aggressiveness. Still, I am not certain that a wider conflict will not develop over time. Venus in Cancer is quincunx aspect to Saturn, touching on deeper resentments, with a need for self-protection.
Saturday August 6th — The Moon in Scorpio is trine aspect to Venus in Cancer, while also trine to Neptune in Pisces, early morning in the US, afternoon in Asia and Europe, indicating that human rights are an emphasis in diplomacy. Protecting personal freedom, aiding the victims of disasters, and preventing war should be a focus. Mars in a square aspect to Saturn strengthens, as the situation remains tense. The Moon ingress to Sagittarius at 16:39 UT (12:39 EDT) and the need to assess the situation to find a greater appreciation of accomplishments. Jupiter, the dispositor of the Moon in Sagittarius, as the Moon is in a trine aspect to Jupiter by evening (US time zones), self-enhances.
Sunday August 7th — The Moon in Sagittarius makes a trine aspect to the Sun in Leo and a trine aspect to Chiron in Aries for a grand-trine configuration in fire signs, indicating ease of movement and the expression of power (Sun), with justification (Chiron). Mars is still in the square aspect to Saturn retro in Aquarius and becomes more intense, as frustrations mount (a doubly approaching aspect). In fixed signs, this could be quite explosive. The Moon makes a quincunx aspect to Uranus in Taurus, possibly igniting a diplomatic tirade, before the sextile aspect to Saturn retro and quincunx aspect to Mars in Taurus. Venus in a trine aspect to Neptune in Pisces approaches the opposition aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. While Venus represents a plea for calm, the requests could be ignored by major powers (Pluto).
Monday August 8th — The Moon in Sagittarius approaches the square aspect to Neptune, as Venus aspects Neptune with an easy trine, high court rulings now are unfavorable to the plight of immigrants and homeless or impoverished members of the social spectrum. Anger could boil over on many fronts. Moon in a square aspect to Neptune retro in Pisces disregards suffering by taking a religious stance, thus failing in human rights issues according to standards of the new era. The Sun in Leo trine aspect to Chiron retro in Aries, finds justification in glorifying life potential. The Moon ingress to Capricorn at 18:40 UT (14:40 EDT). Power is expressed in a controlled manner.
Tuesday August 9th — The Moon in Capricorn is trine aspect to Mercury in Virgo, while square aspect to Jupiter in Aries. Nominations may be made, with the Moon trine aspect to Mercury, or various honorary announcements. The Moon in a square aspect to Jupiter in Aries indicates an element of controversy. Several hour later, the Moon is square aspect to Chiron and then trine aspect to Uranus in Taurus. Mercury in Virgo makes a quincunx aspect to Jupiter retro while Ceres in Leo approaches the trine aspect to Jupiter. Doubtful claims may be made, perhaps to influence possible electoral success of younger contestants.
Reminder: While lunar aspects are in effect only for only a few hours, the aspect of the outer planets can last days and weeks. I post a reading for a day in advance in order to give a preview, also because the aspects may be in effect a day prior to the exact partile degree.
Hope you navigate the week successfully and share the joy! Thanks for reading.
