Oppositions Task the Summer Solstice – June 19-26 2019

Before the Summer Solstice, polarizing conflicts develop. The Mercury conjunction to Mars in Cancer is partile and in exact opposition to Pluto in Capricorn as the Moon transits Pluto. The opposing sides are well fortified! The Moon awakens sleeping powers as it transits Pluto.  Many nations are undergoing a change in leadership. The US Constitution has built-in stability (Saturn) so that the Pluto-Saturn conjunction works within the system. While it is difficult to remove a sitting president, it is not impossible. The tenure of the president is also limited by the Constitution, as the president is the administrator of the Constitution, not the absolute power. Jupiter in Sag and in a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces voices discontent. Saturn sextile aspect to Neptune pares down, or limits the existing amorphous forces. Where does the truth lie? What is the great contradiction?  We all search in some way to rationalize and explain.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday June 19th – With the lunar transit of Pluto, issues greater than our individual lives are changing our personal concepts of home and nation. Mercury conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Mars in Cancer gives voice to convictions and motivates to act.  We could seek to overturn existing powers by joining a political faction (Jupiter in Sag square aspect to Neptune in Pisces).  We could honor our parents and those who fought to preserve freedom. The post-truth (Uranus in Taurus) era is overwhelming us and maybe putting us to sleep in an annoyed response, and a defense against future shock.

Thursday June 20thMercury in Cancer strives to preserve identity and homeland. Mars in Cancer in an opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Pluto retro in Cap is challenging basic identification. Dormant political factions awaken in this charged atmosphere. The legal rights (Jupiter) of immigrants, the indigent and homeless sectors of the population (Neptune) continue to fray the power of the state (Saturn) and to put limits on the needy sector (Saturn sextile aspect – 60 deg – to Neptune). The Moon in Aquarius and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Taurus activates revolutionary powers.

Friday June 21st – The Moon in Aquarius is in a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Venus in Gemini early today for active conversations, possibly revolutionary in nature, with a desire for more individual freedom. Saturn continues in the sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Neptune as administrative goals (Saturn in Cap) are applied to immigrants and the homeless (Neptune in Pisces). Also, with this aspect infrastructure plans go forward. Employment opportunities are made. The Moon is sextile aspect to Jupiter in Sag denotes an expanded sense of personal freedom, as the Sun transits into Cancer and the Summer solstice is achieved. (see chart image)

Summer Solstice
June 21, 2019

Saturday June 22ndVenus in Gemini transits to the opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Jupiter in Sag and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune to form a T-square configuration effective over the next 2-3 days. This will help give some relief to those who are oppressed (Neptune). Talk therapies gain ground in professional circles, while the use of drug therapies (Uranus in Taurus) is at a crisis point. The Moon transits into Pisces and trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to the Sun for a greater empathy.

Sunday June 23rd –   As the opposition aspect between Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Sagittarius reaches partile (exact degree), Neptune at the focal point, and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to each puts a pressure on us to compromise. Though the disagreement may be friendly, a compromise might involve giving up some cherished ideals. The difficulty comes with understanding the viewpoint of the partner or adversary. This could be a political discourse or family feud. It may involve plans for the day or the week, or even life changing events. The danger is that it could grow in disproportion if there is not a willingness to empathize with the other negotiating party. As the Moon in Pisces transits to the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Neptune later in the day, we are inclined to dissolve all hard feelings or reject a solution as impractical. It is important to deal with problems with empathy to find the satisfactory outcome.

Monday June 24th – The Moon moves ahead in Pisces from the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Neptune and sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Saturn in Cap to a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) with Mars and Mercury in Cancer. Having overcome the hurdle with a successful negotiation, there is a willingness to act in a harmonious way to achieve a desired goal.  The Moon ingress to Aries late in the day (2:39 GMT) with new plans and goals for a vision of the future.

Tuesday June 25th –  The Moon in Aries and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the Sun in Cancer for the 1st quarter Moon phase – there is possibly a crisis, as inner conflicts develop. Before the day gets underway, some adjustments to the planned events are necessary. The Moon conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Chiron helps us get in touch with our own experience and wisdom, as the situation becomes more intense with a semisextile aspect (30 deg, sharp) to Uranus in Taurus.  With deep insight, the unusual aspects of the conflict can be explored and hopefully resolved.

Have a successful week!
