The flare-ups following the eclipse with the Saturn –Pluto–Ceres conjunction to the Sun continue –  a re-alignment of candidates and personal priorities for many who may have had a panic reaction to events that put possible conflict into the untrustworthy hands of leaders with dubious motivations. We may be distracted from our goals, as the threats continue.  We are on guard with 6 planets in Capricorn. Mercury transits ingress to Aquarius on the 16^th of this month, and makes a square aspect to Uranus in Taurus, calling for security measures, and with an abundance of caution sextile aspect to Chiron in Aries.  The waning Moon crisis on Jan 17^th with a review of events of the past week, the Moon ingress Scorpio, an opposition aspect to Uranus and trine aspect to Venus follows with pressure for more restraints. The Sun ingress Aquarius on the 20^th; the Moon into Capricorn on the 22^nd.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday January 15^th – The Moon in Virgo makes a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Mercury in Capricorn early in the day, as detailed analysis, criticism and honest reporting vie for attention. Exercise for the body as well as the mind is in order. A good time to sort out details and establish priorities.  With six planets in Capricorn, the expression of this cardinal earth sign is strong. The need to save the environment builds, while fires burn expansive areas in Australia, one of the many places that were consumed by fire over the past 12 months. Saturn continues in the aura of Pluto as the need for regeneration was never greater. Capricorn is a yielding sign, and the earth is the mother of life. The need for protection and regeneration is evident everywhere. We need to learn to yield to the earth mother. This time represents an important turning point in awareness, with Saturn conjunction aspect to Pluto.

Thursday January 16^th – With the Moon now in Libra, Mercury transits into Aquarius, as we try to balance our thoughts with like-minded groups. The Moon was in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter early in the day, prompting realistic alliances.  The Moon in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Neptune as we search for inspiration. The Moon, by evening is in a square aspect to Pluto and Saturn, a possible reversal or renewal of association. Overnight the Moon reaches the 3^rd quarter stage, as the crisis develops.

Friday January 17^th – At the 3^rd quarter Moon phase, Ceres is separating from the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Saturn, as Saturn is slowly separating from the conjunction with Pluto. Ceres represents harvest and seasonal changes, Saturn the status quo. Reforming agricultural practices to preserve the environment is one outcome such that teaching agricultural (Ceres) science and Implementing (Saturn) advanced methods (Cap) can reduce the depletion of vital resources (earth). Saturn is the final dispositor of the stellium in Cap, and Mars in fire sign Sadge is disposed of by Jupiter in Cap as well as semi–sextile aspect (30 deg, mildly helpful) to Jupiter. Fires rage destructively, while espionage is suspected. The Moon ingress Scorpio for more intense scrutiny of hidden resources, and in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tension) to Uranus in Taurus.

Saturday January 18^th – The Moon in Scorp sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Jupiter in Cap, and after makes a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Neptune in Pisces revealing more evidence of espionage. Personal inspiration may also involve romantic partnerships. With the stellium in Cap and the Sa-Pl conjunction, we are still in a transitional phase of definition of government office, power in relationships, as well as national identity.

Sunday January 19^th – The Moon in Scorpio highlights the Saturn–Pluto conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly). This aspect, a “working trine,” could uncover the inside story of the Saturn–Pluto context such as is evident in the Impeachment process that is unfolding. The aspect is strengthened by the sextile from the Moon. Fresh evidence is likely to be released. Passions also flare and crimes of passion become wide-spread. Proceed with caution to avoid accidents.

Monday January 20^th – The Moon in Sadge is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Venus in Pisces, with a measure of distrust and dis-harmony in relationships, at the Sun ingress to Aquarius. We each need more freedom of expression (Aquarius). The Moon conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Mars follows, as impulsive moves are made, possibly triggering violent actions.  The Moon in a square aspect to Neptune late in the day could trigger dis-information, and a purloined letter.

Tuesday January 21^st – With the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, and the Moon in Sadge, an idealistic mood sets in. Mars in Sadge is semi-sextile (30 deg, slight advantage) to Jupiter in Cap, as the Moon triggers Pluto and Saturn with a semi-sextile aspect at the opening of the Senate trial phase of impeachment. The destiny of the Trump administration will be determined by the process over the next few weeks.
