Failure and Renewal Before the New Moon – May 29-June 5 2019

This week the Moon transits from Aries to Cancer, from a square aspect to Mars to the conjunction with the ruler of Aries in Cancer. The collective of votes in India and EU recently taken with the Moon in Pisces, then The Moon into Aries as the aggressive campaigns in the US kick off. While in Israel, Netanyahu still has not achieved a coalition government, despite his popularity and Theresa May PM of UK has resigned. Grass roots debates in the US will move to a more collective consensus, as candidates promote their ideas and gather supporters. The astrological sign of Cancer, a water sign ruled by the Moon, is a transition from the first four personal signs to the four social signs of the zodiac. Individuals tend to associate with others of like mind and form action groups to promote their interests. The Moon’s transit of Taurus meets up with Uranus and Venus, while the New Moon in Gemini begins a new soli-lunar cycle. The events in earthly Taurus could be a reminder of our economic basic needs leading up to the New Moon.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday May 29th – The Moon in Aries today is a symbol of new growth, awakening in the Spring season.  While the repetition of the cycles is endless, renewal still brings a freshness to the day. Innate energies are awakened. Connecting with personal desires energize the day. Relating to nature energizes the personal growth factors in each personality. We stretch to embrace the world around us, and reach for a social awakening with the square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mars. While Mars is the dispositor of the Moon in Aries, the goals should be yet in harmony with our needs. Venus in Taurus is semi-sextile (30 deg, slightly favorable) to Mercury in Gemini. The two planets in the sign they rule are not to be neglected as personal emphasis is on expressing self for personal satisfaction. Social media is the avenue of choice. Mercury is also in a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces as conversations expand to include humanitarian interests.

Thursday May 30thMercury moves from the square aspect (90 deg, harsh) with Neptune to a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Saturn in Capricorn as the battle for a wider appeal and also a specific and detailed message commands attention. Venus and Saturn retro are approaching the trine aspect (120 deg, easy) in earth signs, as respect for the status quo grows. A SaturnNeptune sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly), aiding the underdog or indigent worker approaches reaching partile, until June 18th . While talk about endemic systemic problems surface now, the solutions are not implemented. There is very little real progress for the time being. The transiting Moon in Aries forms square aspects to Saturn and Pluto, igniting more controversy concerning the ingrained methods of governments.  What some call the Swamp. Fractures in support for candidates with limited appeal begin to show. As Mercury in Gemini progresses to the opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Jupiter in Sag, candidates search for a meaningful message to connect with the voters.

Friday May 31st – The Moon ingress to Taurus overnight or early morning, depending on location on Earth, and forms a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Uranus. With a lack of aspects to the combined pair, the effect of this aspect is primarily personal. Individuals gain deeper knowledge and understanding of what personal abilities and material assets. Individual characteristics would be on display now. Conflicts could be triggered, and a more aggressive stance taken by candidates. Venus in a trine aspect to Saturn (120 deg, flowing) initiates a standard of desirable governing, with a limited, yet effective scope. Pinpointing an adversaries’ weakness could also be a method used by candidates now, as Saturn focuses on strengths and vulnerabilities (Saturn sextile aspect-60 deg, helpful- to Neptune).

Saturday June 1st – As the Moon in Taurus transits Venus (0 deg, combining) and trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Saturn retro and Pluto retro in Cap, there is more harmony than discord as agreements are made about rules for procedures and debate within a campaign strategy. Venus in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Jupiter in Sag could then imply some controversy, but probably with good humor. To complicate matters, the Moon sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Neptune in Pisces involves a greater sense of universality, and some good may come of this, or it may be a very entertaining SNL performance. Neptune is pivotal with a sextile aspect to Saturn in Cap as well as to MoonVenus in Taurus. Boundaries are more permeable now as restrictions are eased.

New Moon
June 3, 2019

Sunday June 2nd – The New Moon at 12 deg Gemini today, signifies a reset in the dialogue (see image above). The Moon is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Ceres a few hours before its conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with the Sun and forms an opposition aspect to Jupiter in Sag a few hours after the exact New Moon conjunction. Certainly, thoughts of the diversity in the world order and the future for generations to come, are instilled in the actions of today. Isolationism takes a toll on humanity. Reversals in policy are likely to unfold in the future. Venus in Taurus is trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Pluto in Cap, as focus on productivity brings results.

Monday June 3rd – The Moon in Gemini transits to the opposition aspect to Jupiter in Sag late in the day, making a square aspect (90 deg, sharp) to Neptune in Pisces and forming a T-square configuration. The pressure is on Neptune to dissolve the controversies surrounding us. Neptune will work to dissolve conflict and restore peace. The acceptance of diversity requires compromise, and the hardline views are rejected. Without a compromise, the process dissolves and reverts to disorder. Then, the opportunity for peace would be lost.

Tuesday June 4th – The Moon meets up with Mercury at 29 deg Gemini, before the lunar ingress to Cancer. If we have learned some deeper wisdom – if Mercury (mental) was receptive in the opposition aspect to Jupiter on the 31st of May, Mercury could then be prepared to bring a message form progress in the Moon sign of Cancer. The issue of education funding, as well as the protection and caring for the young is now emphasized.  Mercury ingress to Cancer then brings more open issues to the table. The academic year reaches a conclusion, as projects for reform are proposed. Saturn retro in Capricorn is approaching the sextile aspect (60 deg, working) to Neptune in Pisces. Generational issues are particularized as Saturn attempts to limit the boundless range of Neptune. Reducing waste of public funds is a priority, and the issues are difficult to contain. Compliance with the rule of law deteriorates authority, while the boundaries are further reduced. Subpoenas are ignored as the power of the courts are tested.  It becomes less clear where to draw the line. A disregard for the rule of law from the highest office deteriorates (Neptune) authority with or without strong borders (Saturn).

Have a successful week!
