Crisis and Dissemination Lead to Renewal -Week of February 7-13 2018

This midweek 3rd quarter Moon symbolizes a crisis disseminating phase of the cycle of the soli-lunar interplay.  The full Moon eclipse with the spectacular sights captures the wishful thinking of the people.  A unity of mind and purpose in the sign of Aquarius, as social or political groups gather ahead of the new Moon in Aquarius on the 15th of February. The new Moon represents the start of a new cycle of time and is a good day to set goals for the future. The time between the full Moon on January 31st and the new Moon on February 15th is the disseminating lunar phase. It is perfect for re-examining relationships in the Scorpio Moon transit, finding hidden value in partnership, and recommitting to the union we have already formed. This week we may also discover what can be improved in a relationship, and therefore reach a state of awareness in this cycle which is the same and also unlike any other cycle in time. With Mars in Sagittarius, this may involve developing a philosophical approach and redrawing the outlines of the path into the future. The challenge is for inward growth and change. From Saturday to Tuesday, Jupiter is in a square aspect to the Sun and Mercury this coming Tuesday.

In the image for the week I have chosen the 3rd quarter Moon phase, as the Scorpio Moon is in a square (90 deg) aspect to the Sun in Aquarius. Ceres is the only planet in retrograde this week. Note that I have replaced the glyph for Pluto with the modernized style.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

February 7 2018
3rd Quarter Moon phase

Wednesday February 7th – The last quarter phase of the Moon occurs in the sign Scorpio (see image above).  The Moon forms four major aspects today, while the only other aspect is Ceres trine aspect (120 deg favorable) to Mars, a sign of potential volatility with a more human factor.  The Moon represents the instinctive nature, primarily emotional, although the emotion is usually from learned experiences. This could, then be a cascade of reaction to current circumstances. The third quarter crisis seems to set off a chain reaction.  The stock market plunge, for example, although high in numbers is less in percentage as the inflated values have increased over the past years. Thus, the appearance is for a greater loss. There are likely to be repercussions globally. As the Moon moves into a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Uranus today, some legal initiatives may attempt to modify the situation, although this would have a questionable effect. The Moon square to Venus could be a more emotional and therefore more volatile effect while the Moon sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Pluto could represent gain, profit taking and price gouging.

Thursday February 8th – The Moon in Sagittarius today will transit Mars overnight as the global reaction to financial crisis sets in.  The result could be panic, although philosophical and professionals advocate calm. A Congressional vote is due on government funding which adds to the anxiety. The Moon conjunct (0 deg aspect, combining) Mars in a fire sign produces reflexive actions, but may prompt a more immediate response in an emergency. There are no other close aspects of the day. However, a square aspect to Neptune is forming before Friday morning, a cause of more gloom and possibly a health crisis and chaos.

Friday February 9th – The Moon in a square aspect to Neptune (90 deg harsh) increases anxiety, while a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) from the Moon in Sag to Mercury in Aquarius calms the waves with more analysis and perhaps some modest measures. The passage of the spending bill assured for now, would be crucial to avoid a perception of a government that does not care. Later, the Moon forms a sextile aspect to the Sun in Aquarius, insuring that prudent measures are taken to avoid a serious meltdown. The Sun is then close to a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) with Jupiter in Scorpio which could indicate stronger measures taken to insure confidence overall.   Although a harsh aspect, strong measures prove beneficial.  Mars in a trine aspect (120 deg, beneficial) to Ceres in Leo (fire signs) could then protect women and children from the sudden crisis. Some lessons learned promote overall security.

Saturday February 10th – With the Sun square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter today is a growth aspect in the Sun-Jupiter cycle) the crisis of the soli-lunar cycle begins to resolve. Venus moves into Pisces as gratitude and praise promotes a more peaceful day. The Moon moves from a semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, mildly favorable) to a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Uranus. Uranus is a symbol of radical change, while the Moon is a more individual reflection, so here we may adjust to a more acceptable conclusion.  With a square aspect to Chiron, the inner source of understanding is awakened with the challenge of comprehending an altered vision of reality. While shaken, the importance of life and existence is reaffirmed with a sextile (60 deg, friendly) of the Moon to Venus in Pisces.

Sunday February 11th – The Moon in Capricorn transits Saturn early today, as stature and individual stability is renewed. This is a peaceful day as long as rules and laws are applied and limitations are recognized. Progress in planned projects and enterprise, business or work orientation, planning for the future are favored.  This is the balsamic lunar phase when the seeds of the new cycle are formulated. Looking ahead to future planning can occupy the day.

Monday February 12th – Moving ahead from the square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter, the Sun is nearing the sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Uranus. With a renewed sense of purpose, we can overcome the recent social and economic disruptions, perversion and corruption that have brought calamity to society and many around the globe. The new Moon eclipse that occurs on this Wednesday begins the soli-lunar cycle with the Sun and Moon in Aquarius. As such, the new cycle could be endowed with a heightened sense of purpose and dedication.  The Moon transits Pluto in Capricorn, with a galvanizing effect on personal participation, and thus awareness, in the community contract.

Tuesday February 13th – The Moon leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius today. A semisextile aspect (30 deg, slightly favorable) to Venus in Pisces could indicate a wider concern for social justice.  Later in the day the Moon opposes (180 deg, tense) Ceres at 8.5 deg Leo, as the concern over the protection of young people from predatory attacks promotes new regulations. Self-renewal as well as social renewal are a preparation for the new era, a regeneration of personal and social concerns. In order to maintain personal health mental and spiritual as well as physical, a continuous process of regeneration is required, especially after middle age. At the new lunar cycle, personal renewal should be a focus.
