An Eclipse of Power – June 3-10 2020

The tragic events of the past few days, as a new crisis developed, in this lunar cycle, just hours before the 1st quarter Moon.  The pent-up anger has erupted nationwide and with a few international support demonstrations, a possible set-back for the recovery of the covid crisis. The years old conflict often cast as a conflict between the blue and the black It was, in fact, covid-19 that has interrupted the on-going cultural crisis.  Without a real leadership to calm the situation, the conflict continues.  A full Moon eclipse that will occur on June 5th with the Moon in Sadge and Sun in Gemini, a mutable t-square evolves with Mars in Pisces at the apex.  Mars in Pisces can be self-destructive, as the outward force turns inward. The violence is hurled back on the demonstrators, and the destruction is of the communities of the demonstrators. Mercury in Cancer leads the advancing transits. A spokesperson emerges to try to calm the situation. The anger unleashed hopefully will be stilled by Friday afternoon, at the Full Moon eclipse. This could be the resignation announcement that quells the violence.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday June 3rd – The Sun is in a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Venus retro in Gemini, while the Moon in Scorpio is in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mars in Pisces. A wounded leader is unable to bring about a resolution of the violence. Mercury in Cancer is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Uranus in Taurus, and square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Chiron in Aries. Words that incite more violence clash with the advice of mentors. Jupiter retro is less than two degrees from a partile conjunction aspect with Pluto, an aspect that will be complete by the end of June, as the aspect moves into a position of strong influence. Jupiter represents the expansion of the Pluto tendency to revolution, as the conflict between the police and protesters escalates.  The eclipse on Friday at the Full Moon is bringing this systemic issue to a head.

Thursday June 4thVenus has superseded the Sun in Gemini in the retrograde direction. The power of the people has never been greater in the US with Jupiter conjunction aspect (0 deg, combing) to natal US Pluto. The Moon transits into Sagittarius in the afternoon hours (US time zones), and with a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Saturn in Aquarius, tensions may be eased.  A quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) from the Moon to Mercury in Cancer follows, with more controversy and legal positions taken. A quincunx aspect to Uranus in Taurus from the Moon could take up radical positions or unconventional rulings, as Yod formation results with Mercury in a sextile aspect to Uranus. A trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Chiron later in the day, is another indication of a calming influence.

Full Moon Eclipse
June 5, 2020

Friday June 5th – The Moon in Sagittarius and in opposition aspects (180 deg, tense) to Venus retro and the Sun in Gemini, and a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Ceres followed by the square aspect to Mars in Pisces could further deflate the situation. A cessation of violence is desired, implemented not by force, but by logic. The issues encountered need to be addressed and retributions made. The Full Moon eclipse can reverse the ongoing conflict in the final hours.

Saturday June 6th – As the Moon transits forward in Sagittarius, the Mars in Pisces square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the Sun in Gemini persists. Ceres in Pisces is trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mercury in Cancer, as the perennial voice of youth speaks clearly. The Moon transits into Capricorn for more attention to authority.

Sunday June 7th – The Moon in Capricorn makes a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Uranus in Taurus and sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Ceres in Pisces. Unprecedented actions taken now with the aim to resurrect a position of power as the Moon moves into the opposition aspect (180 deg, polarized) with Mercury in Cancer. Compliance is demanded from authorities, with punishments a consequence.

Monday June 8thTransiting in Capricorn, the Moon encounters the deeply embedded poisonous issues symbolized by Pluto in a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining). Taking up the consequences of the conflict could mean demanding punishment. Jupiter is slowly approaching the conjunction aspect with Pluto, serving to amplify the issues involved, making them highly relevant to the populace in general. Constitutional rights are involved.  Force that is used inappropriately could in fact backfire while weakness could also lead to a failure. By mid-day, the lunar ingress to Aquarius makes a conjunction aspect with Saturn retro. This is a symbol of the status of man and human rights. The Moon is then in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Venus retro in Gemini, a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Taurus and a semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, mildly favorable) to Ceres in Pisces. Failures brought into the light unexpectedly receive slight admonition.

Tuesday June 9th – The Sun in Gemini forms a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune in Pisces today, as the Moon in Aquarius is trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to the Sun. Results are not according to expectations. As Mars is approaching the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Neptune in Pisces, anxieties and uncertainties afflict the reasoning of the protagonist with the transiting Sun conjunct a natal Sun-Uranus conjunction.
