Saturn is a strong influence in the 1st quarter of the lunar cycle. The mood is somber- the issues are issues of conflict, of death and honor, as well as morale and government responsibility. A moral crisis results when a fallen soldier has returned to his country in questionable condition having lost his life in questionable circumstances. Can the President of the US apologize for a lack of compassion or clarity? The lunar conjunction with Pluto could then indicate more revelations, more powerful disclosures from authority figures. Accountability is demanded as Mars enters Libra. With the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury in Scorpio, the fixed water sign, revelations are yet to be made this month. This includes revelations about disease control and genetic discoveries that lead to the eradication of disease. The 1st quarter phase is reached on the 27th of October. The Full Moon on November 4th represents the outcome of the growing controversies, as some resolution is likely then.
Summary of major aspects of the week:
Wednesday October 25th – The Moon ingress to Capricorn early today after the last contact with the planet Saturn, and will transit Pluto in another day’s journey, reaching the 1st quarter phase on the 27th. Revealing secrets seems to be in style, especially concerning secrets of a private relationship, or unwanted advances. With Jupiter and the Sun conjunct in Scorpio, many secrets become public knowledge. The Moon in Capricorn could shift alliances taking Mars the dispositor of Uranus in Libra as a new chapter in legal and legislative power opens. Mars is goal oriented, and in Libra it is in its fall- that is the opposite of its rulership (Aries). This could mean a lack enough clarity, wavering on commitments and controversy over actions taken. Mars in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the Moon at 0 degrees Capricorn and could mark a turning point in controversy.
Thursday October 26th – The plot thickens with the Moon conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. Long established practices are invoked, perhaps in an effort to clarify actions. However a change is due to the practices themselves, as reversals in policy is likely. Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio. The Sun – Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio occurs simultaneously with the Moon-Pluto conjunction, early morning hours in the US. Certainly official announcements at this time could be expected. There could be the release of classified information concerning the Kennedy assassination, or current matters such as the Niger military operations, or some other matters.
Friday October 27th – The Moon in Aquarius reaches the 1st quarter aspect with the Sun in Scorpio 980 deg square aspect). The crisis comes to a head with Jupiter and the Sun square (90 deg aspect) to the Moon in Aquarius while Ceres in Leo opposes the Moon (180 deg, tense). Venus in Libra is in a close square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Pluto in the quarter Moon chart. Venus is strong in the sign of her rulership, while Pluto is disposed of by Saturn in Sag. Mars in Libra is in a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to the Moon. The square aspect represents challenges, legal as well as social acceptance (Libra) to power centers such as military leadership (Pluto). Mars in Libra is less aggressive than Mars is in fire signs and the trine aspect to the Moon further softens the impact of Mars. Venus is more powerful while Mars is relating to a collective stance with the Moon in Aquarius. As a result, the democratic process (Venus–Libra) should modify the sternness of the power centers (Pluto – Capricorn).
Saturday October 28th – The Moon in Aquarius is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury while also trine aspect to Venus in Libra (120 deg, soft). We are sympathetic (Moon trine Venus) to the harsh revelations (Scorpio) and information (Mercury) that is disseminated. Mercury in Scorpio is sextile (60 deg, working) to Pluto in Cap, as information (Mercury) that has been withheld (Pluto) is now released (sextile aspect). The aspects today are active, seeming to culminate the issues of the past week. Mars semi–sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio, a mildly effective aspect that would give credit to media and social agitation that bring results.
Sunday October 29th – The Sun moves ahead of Jupiter in Scorpio, as much of the glory and attention on the celebrities of the past few days recedes. Venus in Libra is semi–sextile (30 deg, mildly favorable) to Mercury in Scorpio as minor details about deaths and/or sacrifice (Mercury in Scorpio) continue to appear in the media (Venus in Libra). Meanwhile, Ceres in Leo draws attention to the plight of children with the quincunx aspect (150 deg, difficult) to Neptune. The Sun progresses to a square aspect (90 deg harsh) to Ceres culminating at the Full Moon on November 4th, as the situation worsens.
Monday October 30th – The Moon in Pisces is trine (120 deg aspect, easy) to Jupiter and the Sun in Scorpio early this morning (US times zones) as universal suffering (Pisces) and compassion (Scorpio) are blended in the aura of the day. Saturn doubly approaching a square aspect (90 deg harsh) to the asteroid Chiron (inner wisdom and promptings) and also doubly approaching a trine aspect (120 deg, easy or flowing) to Uranus retrograde could challenge the prevailing government policies. While the energy associated with the two planets (Saturn and Uranus) are generally incompatible, the blending may help the more radical elements of Uranus comply with judgments, for example legal verdicts. Finally, the Moon’s transit of Pisces late in the day could change attitudes.
Tuesday October 31st – The Moon in Pisces is trine (120 deg, easy) aspect to Mercury in Scorpio and then transits Chiron, as a nation and a world grieves for lost lives through war or tragedy, crime, or due to natural disasters. Mercury in Scorpio trine to Chiron provides some wisdom with the spooks that will inhabit the night. Saturn square (90 deg, harsh) aspect to Chiron gives a stricter tone to the dialogue. Parental responsibility is emphasized. The Moon’s transit into Aries overnight brings and new beginning with the new day and month (Moon ingress to Aries 6:43 am GMT).
