The Moon in Sagittarius is in an opposition aspect to Venus to start this mid-week, as we follow the Moon’s arc through the signs of universal intent to the sign Pisces. This action is more intense with the planets in Capricorn – Saturn, Pluto and Mars – before the weekend. The Moon, moving swiftly, will trigger action usually a 2-3 hours before the contact. Saturday May 5th could then be the most intense day as the Moon transits Pluto and Mars, with harsh aspects to Mercury and Uranus as well. As Mars is approaching a harsh contact with Uranus within 2 weeks time, this is a preliminary stage for action foreshadowing the actual events. There are warnings signs, so take heed and prepare to prevent unwanted results. The stress points on a personal level will show with contacts to planets in your natal chart. The events surrounding us will affect individuals to some degree with positive outcomes depending on readiness to receive or react. With Uranus and Mars about to change signs, as they move into fixed signs (Taurus and Aquarius respectively) in mid-May, corresponding events are shifting our world view.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday May 2nd – The Moon in Sagittarius moves from a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) with Ceres in Leo to a trine aspect to Mercury in Aries – with a possible grand–trine in fire signs, as the Moon blends the orb of influence between the dwarf-planet and planet. This is according to standard delineations a focus on children’s well-being, education and activism. Mercury in Aries trine aspect to the Moon in Sag could advance interests in philosophy and religious pursuits, with self-promotion (Aries) a method. The Moon is receptive to matters pertaining to advancement in educational opportunities. Ceres protects the right of children to develop their full potential. Ceres in Leo is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to the Sun in Taurus as a danger of child abuse persists. The Moon is at the same time in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune in Pisces, and Mercury semi–sextile (30 deg, mild) aspect to Neptune. The path to accomplishment is met with distrust or distortions. The Moon quincunx (150 deg, complex) to the Sun early in the day shows the difficulties can be overcome with a more off-beat approach.
Thursday May 3rd – Mercury in Aries advances toward the quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) with Jupiter retro in Scorpio, a doubly approaching aspect as Jupiter retrograde retreats into the 19th degree of Scorpio and Mercury advances to the 18th degree of Aries. Over the next two days the aspect is gaining in strength as communications with personal experiences are shared. Saturn (restriction) retro in Capricorn (tradition) is in retreat, with aggressive Mercury in Aries moving toward a combustive conjunction with Uranus within a week’s time. (On May 12th Mercury and Uranus are also in a square aspect from Mars.) Venus is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Ceres as gains are made in adaptations for children and youth. The Moon transits into Capricorn as organizational skills are needed.
Friday May 4th – The Moon forms a conjunction (0 deg, combining) with Saturn retro in Capricorn as concern for strengthening infrastructure and institutional viability promote change. Plans are initiated for proposed projects, although not without controversy, as the Moon hits a square aspect to Mercury later in the day. The Sun, in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Neptune promotes the interests of migrant workers, through print and online media, assisting their cause. The Moon sextile to Neptune and trine to the Sun facilitates a peaceful absorption process. In other matters, press releases or leaks of secretive matters could cause disruptions, when the Moon is in a sextile aspect to Jupiter and in a square aspect to Mercury late in the day.
Saturday May 5th – The Moon in Capricorn with a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury in Aries could signify attacks on media reports, or conversely, attacks by media on government procedures. Jupiter in Scorpio sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to the Moon emphasizes the secretive nature, the legal actions of alleged affairs or subversive activities. As the Moon proceeds to transit Pluto retro and Mars, matters relating to the Pluto-Mars conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) of last week are revisited. While Kim Jung-un seems to have changed overnight, turning policy long held on its head, deeper concerns have come to light. While the Mars-Pluto conjunction overcame blockages, transforming attitudes and policies, much still remains unknown. Mars did not ignite the plutonian action, although seems to have passed beyond while leaving many questions unanswered. Questions about Iran’s compliance with denuclearization agreements also remain.
Sunday May 6th – The Moon in Capricorn square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Aries foreshadows the Mars harsh aspect that takes place on May 13th. A semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, light) between the Moon and Saturn retro emphasizes the role of responsibility. The Moon then transits into Aquarius, forming a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Chiron in Aries. This could be helpful in preparation for dealing with obstacles in the path to success. Guidance may be offered, or inner wisdom provides resources for self-direction. The lunar conjunction with Ketu later in the day denotes reflection on the past, the decision and goals that brought you to today. The Moon’s opposition aspect (180 deg, polarity) to Ceres in Leo activates the relationship to children and future generations.
Monday May 7th – This is a complex day with a T-square formation and many inter-related aspects (see above image). The Sun in Taurus is doubly approaching an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio, with the Moon in Aquarius at the focal point of the T-square configuration. The Moon is also conjunct to Ketu, while in an opposition aspect to Ceres and Rahu in Leo. A semi-square aspect (45 deg, sharp) from Chiron to the Sun signifies the discomfort of the situation we face today. It goes against the conscience of many, as lives are in danger due to government policies. The Moon semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, friendly) to Saturn retro early in the day is an opportunity to alleviate stress, although rather restricted. However, the Moon trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Venus in Gemini provides the best assurance that a friendly conversation could facilitate progress. Dreams could be fulfilled. Jupiter retrograde doubly approaches a trine aspect to Neptune in Pisces offering promise although lacking in substance. Mercury in Aries is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Pluto in Capricorn, for possible error and breakdown of process. As Venus in Gemini approaches a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces, the possibility of delay and disappointment is also present. A charm offensive seems to work best in this situation, although treading on the edge of chance itself. Mars in Capricorn approaches the square aspect to Uranus in Aries, as pressure is mounting.
Tuesday May 8th – With the culmination of the Sun opposition to Jupiter in Scorpio, we have passed the test, completed a mission or grabbed that prize, only to find that more hurdles remain. Recharge your batteries for the upcoming challenge. The Moon in Aquarius commiserates with like-minded friends, fellow travelers or comrades, sharing experience with a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Mercury in Aries. A semi-sextile aspect to Mars in Capricorn could help map the future. The sextile aspect to Uranus at 29 deg Aries comes a few hours later, as a new chapter in life begins to open. The experience may be enlightening or awesome. The Moon enters Pisces as an emotional transformation takes place. Letting go of old persona or habits is necessary for renewal. You could feel more vulnerable at this time, or feel like retreating to isolation. Whatever the situation for you may be, there are more challenges ahead.
