The Sun in Capricorn is conjunct Ketu, as deeds of the past are converging in a vortex of investigative reports. The Moon in Taurus is trine aspect to the Sun, adding to the earth sign dominance of the week. However, the Moon transits into Gemini and will be in an opposition aspect to Venus. As Jupiter is 5 degrees beyond Venus in Sagittarius, good news turns into better as the Moon unites the two globes of beneficence on the 17th. The actual conjunction of Venus to Jupiter becomes active on the 21st, as the Moon ingress to Leo for a very significant event that changes the mood of the nations. The Sun enters Aquarius on the 19th of January, and Full Moon eclipse is on the 21st, bringing to heighten awareness the questions of leadership and vitality.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday January 16th – The Sun in a conjunction (0 deg, combining) aspect with Ketu today, as the past catches up with power figures, bringing down the veneer of impenetrability, and sinking reputations. The Moon trine aspect to the Sun in the afternoon hours could bring some rewards, as the old is viewed in a new light. Venus approaches a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mars in fire signs, as energetic relationships flourish. New possibilities for love are advanced. Saturn in Capricorn approaches a sextile aspect (60 deg, favorable) to Neptune in Pisces, slowly limiting the boundless. Immigration issues are the focus while Jupiter square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune inflates the issues for the homeless and immigrants. Can humanity include all of humanity? Is that a valid question at all? Priorities are adjusted with this aspect.
Thursday January 17th – While the atmosphere is laden with corpses, lawmakers may get a rare opportunity to legislate. With the Moon in Gemini in opposition aspect to the midpoint of Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius, a more productive session could take place this afternoon in DC [see image above]. The government partial shutdown could be the major issue discussed. The Sun in Capricorn has transcended Ketu. A more rational approach can now be envisioned. The Moon is yet 10 deg before transit of Trump’s natal Sun (22 deg Gemini) position. And the Full Moon that follows on the 20st (or early morning on the 22nd in the eastern hemisphere) of January the Sun is at 0 deg Aquarius and the Moon at 9 deg Leo. There could be an effort to override Trump’s veto or force his signature to reopen the government. The Moon is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune in Pisces, with the opposition to Venus and Jupiter combined through the aspect, priorities are reorganized to grater satisfaction for the majority.
Friday January 18th – The Sun in Cap is square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Aries today, while Mercury approaches the conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn. Unexpected events, particularly relating to the publication of official memos, and the fallout could be great. The Moon in Gemini is in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to the Mercury–Pluto conjunction in Sag, before moving to a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) with Uranus in Aries and quincunx aspect to the Sun in Cap. Faced with uncertainty, many are forced to reanalyze their convictions and adjust their opinions. Flexibility and ingenuity are called for. The Moon ingress to Cancer occurs in the afternoon hours. Venus approaching the trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mars strengthens the attraction for conjugal love life.
Saturday January 19th – With Mercury transit of Capricorn, the major issues seem to be settled. Venus is trine (120 deg, easy) to Mars encouraging more understanding and attraction to opposite sex, while the Moon in Cancer opposes Saturn and Mars is square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Saturn, forming a T-square configuration. We can now set goals for the next cycle, as the Sun moves into Aquarius late in the day, plans are organized as future ideals become clear.
Sunday January 20th – The Moon in Cancer is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn, as some tenuous issues remain, and we (in general) seek clarification. Yet, there is a feeling of elation as Venus moves to the conjunction (0 deg, combining) aspect with Jupiter in Sagittarius. Venus is in a square aspect to Neptune and trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Mars, as the impasse seems to be breaking up. The Moon moves into Leo in an opposition aspect to the Sun at 0 deg Aquarius, for the Full Moon eclipse. The eclipse often has a sudden effect that can overturns situations., sometimes for the better. The influence can precede the eclipse by several days and continue about 2 months after the eclipse itself, especially when conjunct to a natal planet in a personal chart.
Monday January 21st – As Jupiter is empowered in his own sign and with the conjunction (0 deg, combining) aspect with Venus, a congressional action could overturn the shutdown of the US government. With Mercury conjunct Ketu in Cap, the past haunts the executive branch of government and it is thereby weakened (US, UK and Israel are among those affected). The Moon forms a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Mars for increased vitality and then a trine aspect to Venus–Jupiter for a grand–trine in fire signs. Energy flows uninterrupted. The Moon makes a Yod formation with Saturn in Cap and Neptune in Pisces both in quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to the Moon. Great creativity is required to overcome the discordant energies. The configuration is momentary, lasting but 2-3 hours. As this is a nighttime aspect for most of us, it could primarily affect the subconscious dream state. Adjustments in approaches to work and political affiliations may be internalized.
Tuesday January 22nd – As drama unfolds with the Moon in Leo disposed of by the Sun in Aquarius, the Moon in a quincunx (150 deg, complex) aspect to Pluto in Cap, the Sun is not forming a major aspect today, and is in the sign of its detriment (opposite the sign it rules). While the conscious head (head of state) may speak, the influence is negligible, and power is limited. Mercury in Cap in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Aries, as harsh decrees (announcements) could be made. Saturn square aspect to Mars continues as conditions are difficult but overcome with ingenuity (Uranus). Mars transcends the square aspect, as will power overcomes the blocked energy. The Moon ingress to Virgo in the late hours of the afternoon and evening as mental work occupies the time. Critics and novelists gain advantage.
