Reversals at the Full Moon Eclipse — December 23-30 2020

As Jupiter and Saturn egress Capricorn, the Sun ingress on the 21st at the solstice supplies the energy for the sign to remain a focus of the week. Saturn in Aquarius is the dispositor of the planets in Capricorn, forging a new path into the future. The Moon transits from Aries to Cancer this week, to make an opposition aspect to the Sun on Dec 30th at 3:39 AM GMT. For the western hemisphere, the full Moon eclipse takes place in the evening of the 29th. The fate of the country and the world depends on national leadership, a truth that has been highlighted during the Capricorn stellium phase of the past month. The goals set by the leadership, either explicit or implied, mold the future. A true leader must have the best interests in the country he or she leads at heart. The Sun in Capricorn puts the leader in focus at the Full Moon. A combination of factors as well as the role of the government in managing the pandemic, has allowed some nations in northern Europe to maintain low rates of infection throughout the year. The failure of government to develop and implement policies has contributed to the high rate of infection and mortality.  The development and distribution of the vaccine, a development of medical science, a product of technical ingenuity designated by Capricorn with assistance from Uranus, will allow for a gradual decline in infection rates throughout the world.  It takes the combined roles of science and government policy to supply the people of the world with the tools for survival during a life-threatening crisis. In an historical perspective, the last conjunction aspect of Saturn and Jupiter was in Libra in 1980, with a square aspect from Mars in Cap to Pluto in Libra, ushering in a period of war in the ME, in Lebanon with the presidency of Reagan. This week Mars in Aries is in a square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday December 23rd — The Moon in Aries transits the conjunction with Mars, as Mars is in conjunction aspect to Eris, the slow-moving planet beyond the orbitof Pluto, and a square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Initiatives taken could be counter to the proposals of the government, and the incoming administration, as conflicts arise. States and business interests attack the new financial relief bill that Congress sent for the president’s signature. Further adjustments may be necessary. We look to the future, the conclusion of the calendar year, and the great conjunction make for a seed moment, an historical turning of focus, and a realignment of interests, as politicians and celebrities take new positions, espousing new, maybe less radical ideas.

Thursday December 24th — The Moon ingress to Taurus early today with square aspect to Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius and a trine aspect to the Sun in Cap, as declining powers try to reassert authority. The trine aspect to the Sun as the Moon is also in a square aspect to Jupiter indicates more successful outcomes. Difficulties are overcome. A few hours later, the Moon trine aspect to Mercury in Cap. followed by the conjunction aspect to Uranus retro in Taurus may yield surprising results. The economy experiences a spurt in growth, as Mercury is trine aspect to Uranus.

Friday December 25th — The Moon in Taurus, after the conjunction with Uranus, and as finally we settle down to enjoy the day (searching for the more pleasant news, with Venus in Sadge and in a quincunx aspect to the Moon) a philosophical attitude descends.  The inconvenience of virtual connections to celebrate the season, traditions and the passage of time is taken in stride. The Sun, Mercury and Pluto in Cap maintain the traditions, even in solitude. Perhaps it’s the dream of a more perfect tomorrow that inspires us in this year’s final week.

Saturday December 26th — As Jupiter advances from the partile conjunction aspect with Saturn, some of our limitations are lifted. Those who become vaccinated have the option of a greater mobility. Yet, maintaining isolation is still a reality for many, as the coronavirus continues to rage. The Moon in a trine aspect to Pluto in Cap, gives us hope for the future of humanity. The Sun progresses to a trine aspect with Uranus, as the benefits of recent shifts in government and advances in medical science are implemented. The Sun in a square aspect to Chiron in Aries helps to nullify false information. The Moon ingress to Gemini in the evening US time zones, relates to the SaturnJupiter conjunction, possibly explaining the contradictions inherent in the shifting scenes, accepting changes while reserving personal objections.

Sunday December 27th — The Moon in Gemini is in a quincunx aspect to the Sun in Capricorn early today, as doubts exist among various viewpoints, contradicting the conventional views. Alternative choices are accepted as variations are presented with the Moon quincunx aspect to Mercury in Cap. As Pluto in Cap eases from the square aspect to Eris retro in Aries, the realization of a total transformation with the rebirth of a more unified world culture comes into consciousness. Mars in Aries advances slowly beyond the conflagration of the past.

Monday December 28th — The Moon in Gemini and an opposition aspect to Venus in Sadge early today as many find value in shifting their alliances with the changing political realities. The Moon in a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces and a conjunction aspect to Rahu, as Neptune is the focal point of a T-square, the past recedes from awareness as the prospect of a new year is embraced. The Sun in Cap trine aspect to Uranus remains in effect as the future of health of many communities improves with the implementation of covid vaccines.

Full Moon eclipse
December 29-30, 2020

Tuesday December 29th — The Moon ingress to Cancer early today, with a symbolic nod to Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius, the quincunx aspect that seems to promise exceptional care for health and national interests, home and hearth. The square aspect to Chiron in Aries a few hours later seems to disregard a voice of caution in favor of self-indulgence with the sextile aspect to Uranus in Taurus that follows. With the Full Moon eclipse that occurs in the evening hours (US Time zones) or overnight (Europe and eastern hemisphere) as sudden reversals could impact security and health. The vaccines change the outlook for the future. Better land management, national pride and traditional values as the new administration is assembled in a changed world.
