The power struggles and the rage of mother nature that were evident this past week, continue to affect us this week as well, with the Capricorn–Cancer location of planets in opposition aspects. With Saturn and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, the ruling powers are in a recovery and repair mode. Mercury retrograde also is analytical, returns to the sign Cancer and conjunction with the Sun on the 21st and 22nd of July. Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces are also retrograding as more in-depth work on legal immigration rights is required. Chiron retrogrades in Aries as though to question commonly held ideas that conflict with a deeper sense of justice and respect for the rights of the individual. The Sun transits into Leo on the 22nd of July as the Moon in Aries is trine aspect to the Sun and to Mars in Leo on the 23rd, for a burst of aggressive actions and creative initiative.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday July 17th – The Moon ingress to Aquarius overnight in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Mercury retro in Leo. More verbal repartee and infighting could take place as the Moon moves from the opposition aspect to Mercury to open conflict with a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Chiron in Aries and a square aspect (90 deg, conflict) to Uranus in Taurus. Idealistic youth (Moon in Aquarius) searching for new-age power ideas conflicts with the stubborn realities of a greater force (Uranus in Taurus). Uranus is the dispositor of the Moon in Aquarius, and able to exert control over the situation. True, they wish to overthrow the power and supplant authority (Moon opposition aspect to Mars), but the ability is lacking. Venus in Cancer is in opposition aspect to Saturn in Cap, as the generation gap is laid bare.
Thursday July 18th – The Moon in Aquarius is sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Jupiter in Sag today, as the applicant gains legal protection. Saturn is slowly plying to a semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, slightly favorable) to Jupiter, as authority is affirmed, over the next few weeks. The recognition of status is granted in Constitutional law (Pluto in Cap). Venus in Cancer is trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Neptune in Pisces, for a more sympathetic outcome for migrants and the disenfranchised populations.
Friday July 19th – Mercury retrograde re-enters Cancer as tensions are itemized around the world, with US sanctions on Iran and China causing economic problems. Uranus could be another indication of economic reversals. Venus in Cancer approaches the opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Pluto retro in Capricorn as challenges to the authority of government actions gain in credibility. Power attempts to crush opponents as well, diminishing the legal authority of actions against the rule of law. The weak challenges the strong.
Saturday July 20th – The Moon in Pisces is sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Uranus in Taurus early in the day as idealistic notions, presented by youthful representatives, challenge stability. Mercury retro is doubly approaching the Sun in Cancer, while Venus in Cancer is doubly approaching the opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Pluto retro in Cap. Over the next 24 hours, a crisis point is reached. Uranus in Taurus, a fixed earth sign, resists the implosion, that will reverse many fortunes. A void in planets in air signs leaves much unsaid, however demonstrated. The square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Jupiter in Sag from the Moon in Pisces, a sextile aspect to Saturn in Cap from the Moon precede the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) from the Moon to Neptune by early morning US time zones.
Sunday July 21st– The Moon transits Neptune in Pisces, as the resolve deepens the commitment to uproot racist mentality from nation’s leadership. Limitations need to be drawn (Saturn in Cap is a final dispositor) while legal analysis finds just cause (Jupiter is a final dispositor in Sagittarius). The Moon serves to bring the issues together to achieve any aim. With the Sun in a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Mercury retro and Venus in Cancer is in an exact opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Pluto, the Moon forms a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Venus, Mercury retro and the Sun in Cancer, and a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Pluto in Capricorn. The conflict represented by the opposition aspect between Pluto and Venus is heightened and personified (Moon). The issues are opened with an increased sensitivity (Pisces).
Monday July 22nd – The Moon transits the Aries point to begin a new cycle about 15 hours before the Sun arrives in the sign of Leo by transit. However, the Sun in Cancer is disposed of by the Moon transiting the early degrees of Aries, as the energy is heightened. The Sun once in Leo is its own dispositor in this sign of its rulership. So, the ruler, the Lion King, speaks for himself today. The Moon in Aries is disposed of by Mars, now transiting Leo. Mars is in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Jupiter in Sag. This shows respect and collaboration with point of legal principles. A Grand–trine in fire signs ensues, as the warrior in this scenario is represented by the Moon in Aries and Mars in Leo, when the podium is grabbed by this entity, to oppose the King in discourse. With no planets in the air signs of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius, actions speak louder than words.
Tuesday July 23rd – With the Moon, Chiron and the Sun in fire signs as well as Mars and Jupiter, and no planets in air signs yet today, the fire element predominates. Mercury retro transits to the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Venus noted for July 25th, already in evidence, and that is exactly conjunct D. Trump’s natal Venus. More will be said about his past, (Venus in Cancer is disposed of by the Moon) his personal biases and past dealings will come to light, as the Cancer-Moon theme continues. With Trump’s natal chart lacking earth signs while strong in air signs, his self-defense is weak. His bluff could now be exposed. The fire signs give inspiration as well as energetic actions. Everyone could use this time to further their goals.
Have a great week!
