The lunar transit of Uranus on Wednesday represents the triggering of impulsive acts of aggression; it could also be a breakthrough in discussions or of a complex transformation, leading up to the Full Moon eclipse on the 30-31st. Injecting new ideas or revolutionary acts into the stalemate or impasse as Mercury is approaching a conjunction (0 deg latitude) with Pluto in Capricorn. On the 23rd to the 25th, the quincunx aspect of Uranus to the mid-point of Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio is in effect. This is helpful for a more inclusive agreement. On the 26th Mars ingress to Sagittarius occurs, as the direct energy and goal orientation seems to shift into active mode, distributing judgment or analysis. The Mercury conjunction with Pluto on the 24th involves the sextile to Jupiter suggesting a gratification to social interests. The Moon in Gemini opposes (180 deg aspect, conflict) Mars, indicating divisive discussions are ignited. On the 29th, the Moon in Cancer transits in opposition (180 deg, conflict) to the planets in Capricorn: Saturn and a few hours later Pluto and finally Mercury. Saturn and the Moon are in their home signs, evoking paternal care and responsibility.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday January 24th – The Moon enters Taurus early today, forming a trine aspect (120. easy) to Saturn by mid-day. This gives us the ability to increase our focus on practical issues, issues that are fundamental to personal status. We could realign our personal value system at this time, as we can be energized in realizing goals. Mercury and Pluto are conjunct (0 deg latitude, combining) in Capricorn, as we await the outcome of powerful judgments. The Sun is semi-sextile to Saturn as hope and fate are combined for many. The first quarter Moon phase implies a crisis as new restrictions and limitations could be imposed. An economic burden may be increased as well.
Thursday January 25th – While Mercury moves ahead of Pluto in Capricorn, secret agreements come out in the open. Mars in the final degree of Scorpio (the 29th) seeks to initiate anew while being confined to the rules of marriage and social ethics. Uranus in Aries is now at the exact quincunx (150 deg, existential) to the midpoint of Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio. Internalizing social norms is the process for personal development. While legal restrictions limit actions if they are harmful to another, personal ethics is a social concern. However, imposing restrictions does not have a value for learning. We may now get a vision of life under the strictest social structures on earth. Mars ingress to Sagittarius now, as more social reform is sought. Moon in Taurus is in opposition (180 deg, polarizing) to Jupiter and trine (120 deg, easy) to Pluto and Mercury in the earth sign Capricorn, as action groups form.
Friday January 26th – The Moon moves into Gemini in opposition (180 deg, conflict) Mars in Sagittarius, promoting diversity in thought. The lunar quincunx to Saturn in Cap could help to consolidate disparate views into one unified group. The Moon then is trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to the Sun and Venus in Aquarius, promoting reform movements and social actions. Mercury in Capricorn approaches a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Aries. Although Mercury is generally neutral, the planet of mental acuity, expressions of ideas, it can also act as a trigger when in aspect of a hash nature. I might expect the unexpected here, as revolutionary ideas or actions take place. Both Aries and Capricorn are cardinal signs, with forceful actions that could upset the balance of the status quo.
Saturday January 27th – The Moon is in a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to the Sun and Venus early today. All in air signs, relating with sweet and voluminous conversations. Family and friends may get together, even across distances with electronic devices, with Uranus the dispositor of the Sun and Venus in Aquarius. The Moon is in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune, promoting a variety of experience, both practical and through flights of fancy. The need for a universal awakening has never been greater, as Mercury is still closer to the square aspect with Uranus (see Friday notes above). Venus in Aquarius is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Ceres in Leo as a saving grace reaches across borders and boundaries. More revolutionary or innovative thoughts and ideas are expressed. The underlying principles of astrological understanding are realized., a possible “aha” moment.
Sunday January 28th – The Moon in Gemini, as the individual innate psyche, instinctive and nurturing in natural relationships, contacts the harsher realities of experience with the sextile to Uranus and square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Chiron. The inner guide (Chiron) finds a voice of the existential teacher Mercury in Capricorn quincunx (150 deg, problematic) aspect to the Moon. Inspiration and deeper meanings are found in life’s complex journey. Later in the afternoon, the Moon enters Cancer, and opposes Saturn in Cap. The inner child (Moon in Cancer) may withdraw from harsh realities, as imposing restrictions are set (Saturn in Capricorn). Parents seek to perfect their role (Saturn in Capricorn) in some cases, even over doing the mothering side (Moon in Cancer) to protect children (opposition aspect – 180 deg, conflicting).
Monday January 29th – The morning hours (early afternoon Europe and Asia) are hopeful of a favorable outcome for dreamers (Moon trine -120 deg- to Neptune in water signs). The slow moving bureaucratic government (Pluto in Capricorn) may not yield, yet hope and support may be drawn from a lack of status to achieve the desired goals. Waiting for the desired outcome is a stressful situation. The Moon is quincunx (150 deg, problematic) to the Sun and Venus in Aquarius. A trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Jupiter in Scorpio later in the day helps to provide social integration. Fears of a negative announcement (Moon in Cancer square -90 deg, harsh- to Uranus in Aries) create an emotionally destructive situation.
Tuesday January 30th – An emotionally toxic situation results from the Moon’s square aspect to Uranus and opposition (180 deg, stressful) to Pluto in Capricorn. The Cancer Moon tends to withdraw emotionally when challenged, being self-protective in nature. Mercury in Capricorn in opposition (180 deg, stressful) aspect to the Moon could be an avenue for de-compression through a process of therapy or confidence in a professional (Mercury in Capricorn). Leading up to the Full Moon eclipse, many expressions of stress and emotional distortions may result. Directing energy to charitable and a safe energy reduction through physical exercise or sport events help to keep you emotionally calm.
