Lunar Encounters – May 27-June 3rd 2020

As the Moon travels through the half of the sky that is not populated by the planets for this week’s segment, from Leo through Scorpio, it will trigger the actions of the spheres, either singularly or in configurations. As the number of new Covid-19 cases continues to decline in the US, the new cases worldwide, compared to population size, increases in countries that were slower to become infected. By June 3rd, Jupiter and Pluto (both retro) are within a 2 deg orb of separation. Their influence becomes stronger, as we struggle to contain the virus. Social participation (Jupiter) in the effort is vital if the virus is to be eradicated (Pluto). In this way, Jupiter must encourage Pluto. The outcome could be then as many are realizing, a too strong mechanism of social control. Safe guards to the strong central government should be maintained and strengthened, where possible. As Jupiter is also representative of the legislative branch of government, voter’s rights must be guarded with constitutionally mandated legislation.  The government exists by means of the Constitution. We can expect more back-and-forth actions taken this week.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday May 27th – The Moon in Leo is in opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Saturn in Aquarius early today. We can feel the restraints on our freedom of expression, or enjoyment of nature with this aspect, as disciplinary actions are taken. The Moon in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to the Sun is a reminder that we comply for the health of our neighbors, as well as our own. The Moon is then in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus in Taurus and trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Chiron in Aries. Compliance with the restrictions has the logic of experience behind it.  Scientific laws follow the laws of nature.  The rate of infections in the US are falling at a pulsating rate, rather than a smooth decline. With the Moon quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Ceres and Mars in Pisces, you could find ways to comply and also enjoy natural surroundings and small group gatherings.

Thursday May 28th – The Moon in Leo is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Venus retrograde in Gemini, an indication of support for fun loving Leo. However, the quincunx aspect to Neptune in Pisces, followed by the quincunx aspects to Pluto and Jupiter in Cap, would then deflate and possibly ensnare the unwary joy-hunter. Social laws are enforced. Mercury ingress to self-protective Cancer, is a retreat or a bold counter-claim.

Fist Quarter Moon Phase
May 30, 2020

Friday May 29th – The Moon in Virgo makes a Yod formation with Mercury sextile aspect (60 deg helpful) and Saturn in Aquarius in quincunx aspects (150 complex) to both Mercury and the Moon for a creative work-around, as we try to deal with a life in a complex world, and the economy gradually reopens. It is the 1st quarter Moon with the square aspect (90 deg, harsh) from the Moon to the Sun. It represents today as a crisis point in the development of the cycle, during this global pandemic crisis. It is this ingress of the Moon to Virgo that sets us to work.  A few hours into the day, the Moon reaches 8 deg Virgo while forming several aspects, to the Sun at 8 deg Gemini, and planets at 8 deg of their respective sign. A working agreement with radical Uranus, a compromise with logical Chiron, the centaur professor, and a challenge to Ceres in Aquarius, cognizant of the future. Attitudes may change as the totality seems to click into place, and minds begin to see results for a new normal.

Saturday May 30th – While Neptune was unaspected over the previous day, today the Moon in Virgo reaches the opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Mars in Pisces.  The tide is turning and it’s time to clean up the corruption and the spread of the virus.  With the Full Moon eclipse arriving on June 5th, the influence begins this week. Mars will be forming a Tsquare to the Sun and Moon.  Clearing out the corruption will be a focus for the next few weeks.  By the end of the day, (morning Sunday in the ME nations) the Moon opposition aspect to Neptune shines a light on corrupt practices, and mismanagement of the threats resulting from the pandemic. The Moon in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Venus retro in Gemini, exposes more details of relationships that were previously undetected.  Jupiter retro is slowly advancing on the conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) with Pluto retro in Capricorn, as the will to expose and eliminate corruption increases.

Sunday May 31st – The Moon ingress to Libra early today, forming a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Saturn retro in future oriented Aquarius. We can see some progress in striving for legal accountability. The Moon in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury in Cancer requires accountability – exposing detailed records. By mid-morning in the eastern hemisphere (midnight in the US) the Moon is in opposition aspect (180 deg, tension) to Chiron in Aries, while quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Uranus in Taurus and also a quincunx aspect to Ceres in Pisces, forming a Yod. This formation brings indicates a crisis that is developing and we should maintain a perspective to avoid rushing to judgment.  The situation is very complex.

Monday June 1st – The Moon in Libra transits to a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) in the early morning (US time zones) and noon in the ME. A flow of information and good energy motivates communication.  A quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Mars in Pisces along with a trine aspect to Venus retro in Gemini follow shortly after. Venus is in a square aspect to Mars. How do we balance the opinions that vary on the gender scale? This reflects a scenario of a legal judgment concerning charges of sexual harassment.  Hopefully, charges could be cleared up at this time, while new charges could also be made. The Moon quincunx aspect to Neptune follows, with a dismissal or dissolution of existing complaints.

Tuesday June 2ndMars in Pisces activates the Sun-Venus conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) in Gemini with a square aspect (90 deg, harsh).  Disagreements along gender lines continue. Complaints are lobbed toward the feminine influence, although the Sun indicates support for her view, and counter attacks. The Moon ingress to Scorpio as intense emotions are expressed. The Moon is then in a square aspect to Saturn retro in Aquarius. This could represent a decision that blocks further expressions of grief.  Trine aspects (120 deg, flowing) from the Moon to Mercury in Cancer follow, creating another avenue for expression of the compliant, perhaps an appeal of the decision to a higher court. The Moon in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Uranus in Taurus could reflect on the complainant or result in a reversal.
