The planets in earth signs predominate this week, while the Moon moves from water sign Cancer into fiery Leo and on to earthly Virgo. The Moon in Cancer in in an opposition aspect to the powerful duo in Capricorn– Pluto and Jupiter. In Leo, the Moon is in an opposition aspect to first Saturn and, two days later, to Mars. The Yin signs of earth and water are dominant, suggesting that we follow the recommended programs, while working to improve personal health, absorbing wisdom of right living in preparation for the months of ahead. The initial phase of the pandemic, with the rampant spread of disease, brings us to a state of wariness. To proceed in an environment of hidden danger, preparedness is essential. Earth is the element most practical in attending to basic needs and thoughtful living. The water signs are oriented to healing. This week we can prepare for the future phase of the pandemic by increasing knowledge and improving resilience. While the risk remains high, avoiding the danger with practical measures can ensure safety.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

April 29, 2020
Wednesday April 29th – The Moon in Cancer and Ceres with Neptune in Pisces work with the earth sign placements to increase a sense of cautious progress. The Moon, meanwhile, transits to opposition aspects (180 deg, tense) to Pluto retro and Jupiter in Capricorn. (See image attached) This can trigger powerful reversals. Saturn in Aquarius is the dispositor of Pluto and Jupiter in Cap. This is likely to affect the stability of the government and policies of the administration. Saturn returns to Cap in the retro phase of its transit, beginning July 1st. Saturn and Mars in Aquarius are disposed of (related to the Planet that is the ruler of the sign occupied) by the change agent Uranus, transiting in Taurus, flanked on either side by Mercury and the Sun in equal distance from Uranus. It’s a moment when the future is determined by present conditions. The Moon in Cancer is semi-square aspect (45 deg, sharp) to Uranus and the Sun in Taurus in the early hours, prompting shock and dismay, especially concerning health issues.
Thursday April 30th – The Moon ingress to Leo is early in the day, and an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Saturn in Aquarius is formed. There could therefore be limitations on freedom, although participation in the collective process includes empowerment. The Moon forms square aspects (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury and Uranus in Taurus for more radical economic measures taken. Obsessiveness is also a danger with Mars in Aquarius semi-sextile (30 deg, irritable) to Neptune in Pisces and the Moon square aspect to Mercury and Uranus.
Friday May 1st – Mercury is now in a close conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to Uranus in Taurus, with more radical expressions of need and inequality with the 1st Quarter Moon phase, as difficulties with electronic transfers are expressed. The Moon is then in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Venus in Gemini, the dispositor of Mercury and Uranus, as Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, for satisfaction with the distribution of aid. Later in the day or evening, the Moon is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Mars in Aquarius and a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Neptune as greater needs remain unmet, and additional demands could challenge established limits (Saturn in Aquarius).
Saturday May 2nd – The Moon in quincunx aspects (150 deg, complex) to Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn in the morning hours for a pandemic spread assessment with mixed messages. As the Moon transits to ingress Virgo, the assessments are likely confirmed with the Moon quincunx aspect to Saturn in Aquarius. The trine aspects (120 deg, flowing) from the Moon to Uranus and Mercury in Taurus follow, as more analysis and technical processing of data could result in better tools for maintaining the security of the population such as drive-through or walk-through centers for testing.
Sunday May 3rd – The Moon in Virgo is in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mercury and the Sun giving benefits such as creative culinary pleasure with family while spending more time at home in this time of pandemic. Other new practical skills can emerge as well. We can benefit if we take the time to create a better home environment. A square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Venus in Gemini from the Moon indicates the effort needed to improve relationships as the Moon makes an opposition aspect to Neptune creating a T-square configuration. There is a necessity to work together to avoid a state of disunity. The Moon will also form a trine aspect to Pluto in Capricorn late in the day, as personal benefits also compliment the universal when we go with the flow. The Moon in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Mars in Aquarius provokes more creative expressions of discontent.
Monday May 4th – The Moon in Virgo makes a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Jupiter in Capricorn early in the day, increasing good vibes and good health. The Moon’s ingress into Libra follows, and a trine aspect to Saturn helps to process gains in security, although the limits are also established. Mercury in Taurus is in a conjunction aspect (0 deg, combining) to the Sun as security and health are prioritized. Venus in Gemini and in a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Neptune in Pisces, as health workers are motivated to achieve results. Chiron in Aries is in a semi-sextile aspect (30 deg, mildly helpful) to Uranus in Taurus helping to correct oversights with innovation. The Moon in Libra is in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Chiron in Aries with compromises necessary for a social acceptance, social distancing or other arrangements.
Tuesday May 5th – As Mercury transcends the Sun in Taurus, the Moon in Libra is in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to the pair. Greater attempts at harmony are possible to succeed. Venus in Gemini as the dispositor of the Sun and Mercury and of the Moon in Libra, has a role in moderating, while reactions are likely to be extreme. Mars is in a semi–sextile aspect (30 deg, mild) to Pluto in Capricorn, and may provoke discord or transformation.
