Crescent Moon and Developing Pride – Week of May 16-22 2018

Moving into signs of a fixed nature this spring season, we are set on a path that is a trajectory through time for nearly the next eight years. The parameters are more determined, although revolutionary in nature. The Moon travels ahead into Gemini as the limitations are explored. Uranus is in Taurus until March 2026 when both Saturn and Neptune will move into Aries. Saturn in Capricorn now, is retrograde and will connect with Uranus in a trine aspect in September, as more control is implemented. The eruption of the volcano Kilauea in Hawaii is heralds the breakthrough of the coming phase, the Mars-Uranus final square aspect in a cycle. Uranus and Mars then change signs into the fixed signs of Taurus and Aquarius. Setting long-term goals is appropriate for this time-passage. Tremendous psychic power is released at the Mars-Uranus square aspect.  The New Lunar month coincides with these astrological phenomena as Mars aims for a revolution of a peaceful order as nuclear power is relinquished. At the same time, a contradictory power is created. It is a clash of community and reality on the ground.

Summary of Major Aspects of the Week

Wednesday May 16th – With Saturn and Pluto both retrograde in Capricorn, Mars advancing to Aquarius leaves a residue, a sort of backward looking power struggle. The Moon was trine to Mars overnight, activating radical forces for their regressive cause. Jupiter and Neptune are gradually increasing their contact to a crescendo in orchestrated power. Mars and Uranus test the ground and air in new signs of domicile. The Moon in Gemini forms a quincunx to Saturn later in the day, as children who  seek stability and reassurance on unsteady legs. A semi-sextile (60 deg, friendly) to Ceres in Leo from the Moon could bring some needed assistance.

Thursday May 17th – If you seem low on energy today you can blame the stars, as we are low on fire sign planets since yesterday, only Chiron and Ceres are in fire signs. Jupiter and Neptune are locked into a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) as emotional minded views are impervious to criticism. Earth and air signs carry the burden with mindful actions. That is, thought and practical actions to carry on toward goals with uncertain reward. It could be inner wisdom and duties for our family that are ingrained forces for good that give us the will to achieve and the power to endure hardship and the destructive forces of nature. The Moon transits into Cancer for caring about home and family. A sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Uranus and a quincunx aspect (150 deg, creative) to Mars could ignite a war of words. As a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Chiron increases concern.

Friday May 18th – As Mars transcends the square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus, more action and backlash might now be witnessed. Forces are in conflict, in Taurus, although a conservative sign of caution, Uranus will be a more upsetting of values. Uranus in Aries powered invention and originality, while in Taurus there is a reversal of strategy. Earth signs prefer stability, while Uranus will cause eruptions, such as is happening in Hawaii’s Big Island. Aggressive Mars in Aquarius is concerned with all of humanity a universal sign of fixed modality. Reversals in policy are at a high incidence, as we are starting to see. The Moon in Cancer is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Mercury in Taurus and opposition aspect (180 deg, polarizing) to Saturn in Capricorn. The Moon in Cancer retreats from power in Capricorn, or balances the restrictive nature of Saturn with self-care. A grand trine configuration then forms from the Moon in Cancer to Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Restrictions are eased for immigrants. Medical care is available for the sick and wounded. However, the window of opportunity is brief, and once again restrictions apply, as Pluto opposing the Moon forces compliance.

Saturday May 19thVenus ingress to Cancer today, showing more personal concern, as the Moon sextile to the Sun (60 deg friendly) with the first crescent stage, encouraging us to mobilize our forces for a specific goal. Now is the time our actions gain momentum, putting ideas into action. The Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn forcing concessions and reevaluations to protect our cause from an early demise. Difficulties pile up. The Moon enters Leo, opposing Mars in Aquarius, as an infusion of energy revives our efforts, while a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) from Chiron in Aries encourages us with the wisdom of experience.

May 20 2018
Developing Crisis

Sunday May 20th – The Sun enters Gemini as we awake to more possibilities and become anxious for achievement. The Moon in Leo is conjunct (0 deg aspect) Rahu and forms a quincunx aspect (150 deg, challenging) to Saturn early in the day, with a warning of the difficult path ahead. The goal ahead is magnified as we make plans to overcome the obstacles. A square aspect (90 deg, harsh) from the Moon in Leo to Mercury in Taurus challenges with thoughts of practical and logistical needs, as the Moon is later conjunct Ceres. As the day progresses we become enthusiastic about the future, as the Moon reaches a square aspect to Jupiter in Scorpio. Nostalgia and glorified honor while Jupiter trine to Neptune enhance the atmosphere of the day.

Monday May 21st – The Moon in creative Leo imbues confidence in spite of the quincunx (150 deg, complicated) aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. All challenges will be overcome. With the Moon void-of-course for about 10 hours until Tuesday, the initiation of planned actions should be delayed, as the desired outcome is unlikely. Despite all indications of a successful plan, the timing of implementation is important. The Moon enters Virgo at 2:04 am GMT or late in the evening US times, and forms a square aspect (90 deg harsh) to the Sun in Gemini at the 1st quarter Moon phase, signifying crisis in development, and a quincunx aspect (150 deg, challenging) to Mars in Aquarius and Chiron in Aries and a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Uranus in Taurus. Precaution as well as inspiration guides our actions.

Tuesday May 22nd – The Moon in Virgo attends to details and analysis of technical aspects of implementation. Care is taken with all details now for successful outcomes. The Moon is in a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Saturn followed by a trine aspect to Mercury in the afternoon hours, as thoughts and actions blend. A sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) follows for accomplishment and gain. Mercury in an opposition aspect (180 deg, tension) to Jupiter follows with reward for achievement. However boastful comments are pushed back as shameful, while some wealth could be achieved, and envious responses could be ignored.
