A search for Commitment at the Solstice — December 21 – 28 2022

Overview

The Winter Solstice arrives on December 21st, as the Sun ingress to Capricorn. As winter months set in for the northern hemisphere, summer begins south of the equator. The Sun on Wednesday is square aspect to Jupiter in the first degree of Aries. The impact should be noticeable, although not unpleasant. While Aries is ruled by Mars, denotes aggressive actions, Jupiter indicates an integration of direct action, and as the ruler of Sagittarius, the integration has a legalistic value. The Moon in Sagittarius, and Venus’ trine to Uranus in earth signs orchestrate a moment of legislative power and well high court rulings. The Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Pluto in Capricorn are joined by the Moon on Saturday for a full stellium. Power should be wielded in a compassionate and just manner. It is time to get this together for the sake for the sake of national and international survival. All transitional phases are difficult. Individually, we are undergoing transformations to a different way of relating to a changed world. The planet Uranus is associated with the higher mind transformations. The old brain is said to be how we related to the world in ancient times. The higher mind is how we will relate to a more technologically advanced world, a world that has reached the Anthropocene geologic epoch, coping with the effects of climate change.

The year’s end brings the results of several long-term investigations and trials. The Sun ingress to Capricorn for a stellium in the Cardinal earth sign, as legal decisions are manifested. Ceres stands opposite to all other planets in the firmament, and in an opposition aspect to Jupiter in Aries, as the environmental concerns relates to all other endeavors. A generation takes initiative in the preservation of the environment, demanding conservation measures. The stellium in Capricorn, disposed of by Saturn in Aquarius, indicates a major movement toward preservation. The controlling force is predicated on a universal trend for humanitarian person-centered concerns. The Moon trine aspect to Chiron retro in Aries combines the need to rectify past transgressions. Mars retro in Gemini reflects the release of documents related to crimes of historical importance. Transiting Pluto at the degree of Pluto in the US Declaration of Independence chart, indicates that the significant developments of this year are of fundamental importance for national renewal and eventual regeneration.

Thursday December 22ndCeres continues to play a role by virtue of its standing alone in half of the zodiac, and opposition aspect to Jupiter that continues for several days. Care for the youth and children during the holiday season is even more emphasized this year, as the younger generation faces a changing world.  The Moon in Sagittarius sextile aspect to Saturn in Aquarius implements the legal restrictions to the highest political level, applying the rules even to those who gave lip service to the regulations. Jupiter in Aries is a symbol of that inclusiveness. Of course, not everyone is happy with that.

We have a choice to save the planet or to continue in the downward slope to doomsday. Individual differences are in the final analysis irrelevant. We all play a role in this life. At the ingress to Aquarius, the Moon is sextile aspect to Jupiter in Aries, and trine aspect to Ceres in Libra, easing the opposition aspect between Ceres and Jupiter, as we include all generations in our struggle for survival. The Moon transits to a trine aspect to Mars retro in Gemini, an indication of greater recognition of the lack of adequate measures to preserve the environment. A recognition that the efforts have so far lacked focus. The unwinding of past events has been a distraction. Mars will return to direct apparent transit by mid-January, as we regain a forward drive. The Moon in a square aspect to Uranus retro in Taurus late in the day, early on Monday in Europe and the eastern hemisphere, an indication that events could further imperil economies.

Recovery may pose difficulties and restrictions. The semi-sextile aspect to the planets in Capricorn and to Neptune in Pisces reinforce that friendships are important for stability.

Tuesday December 27th — The Moon in Pisces makes a sextile aspect to the Sun in Capricorn. With some effort, we can find forgiveness and peace. Venus makes a sextile aspect to Neptune in Pisces, as amends may be offered. Mercury stands at the midpoint of Venus and Pluto in Capricorn, blending the three plants into one of solidarity. The Moon in a square aspect to Mars retro in Gemini, indicates a rejection of testimony, or any revisionism. Individual narratives reflect an emotional turmoil.  Disagreements may surface due to differences in underlying opinions.
