Overview

The Moon ingress Gemini and begins a journey through Gemini and Cancer, will not form a conjunction aspect to another planet, until in Leo on Monday (August 14^th) and a New Moon conjunction aspect with the Sun on August 16^th. Thus, the Moon leaves the company of the heavier retrograde planets, travels through two empty signs and/or Houses, and begins an association with the interior planets Venus in Leo and Mercury in Leo, and finally with Mars in Virgo. The Moon makes trine aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, and Chiron in Aries, and on Monday and Tuesday, square aspects to Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus prior to the New Moon. There are no opposition aspects this week from the Moon to any planet or from one planet to another planet, until Ceres opposition aspect to Chiron on Wednesday August 16. Individual natal charts with planets in Gemini and Cancer will experience conjunction aspects, and will have opportunities presented appropriate to the planet and House the planets are posited. The overall atmosphere should be calm, however, after the powerful events of the past week. At the New Moon in the fixed-fire sign Leo, creative energies evolve from the seed moment and a square aspect from Uranus in Taurus, makes an exceptionally powerful New Moon on the 16^th.     

Looking ahead: Mercury in Virgo turns retrograde on the 24^th, at the Sun ingress to Virgo. Mars ingress to Libra on the 28^th, as Uranus turns retrograde.

Summary of major aspects of the week

Wednesday August 9^th — The Moon in the final degrees of Taurus early today (US time zones), afternoon hours in Europe, the ME, and Asia, makes a trine aspect to Pluto in Capricorn, indicating that positions are structured and leading toward a final statement of policy, and strategy, Moon ingress Gemini 13:06 UT/ 08:06 EDT.  In Gemini, the Moon makes a square aspect to Saturn retro in Pisces about midday (US).  Debates focus on issues of the past, such as historical discrimination, and past election issues. Venus retro in Leo makes a square aspect to Uranus in Taurus, financial issues result in an increase in bankruptcies and divorce rates, as stability in personal relationships is undermined. Anxiety attacks increase mental health issues, and the Sun semi-sextile aspect to Mars could spurn actions that are ill-considered. Gun violence increases with these difficult aspects, as people might act out their insecurities. Mercury in Virgo transits the trine aspect with Jupiter in Taurus. Significant gains are made in practical investments.

Thursday August 10^th — Pluto square aspects to Rahu and Ketu emphasize the importance of this historical phase, bringing Constitutional law into focus. The Moon in Gemini makes a sextile aspect to the Sun in Leo, and square aspects to Mercury and Mars in Virgo, as mediation seeks to calm nerves. A semi-sextile aspect from the Moon to Jupiter in Taurus, and also sextile aspect to Venus retro in Leo and semi-sextile aspect to Uranus in Taurus, as mediators succeed to some extent in volatile situations to save lives. The Moon square aspect to Mercury and semi-sextile aspect to Jupiter indicates tempting financial offers that are perhaps unwise. The Moon square aspect to Mars and sextile aspect to Chiron in Aries, indicates difficult choices. Listening to your inner voice of reason helps to escape a difficult conversation. Navigating the day’s events could be exhausting.  

Friday August 11^th — Venus retro in Leo supersedes the square aspect to Uranus in Taurus, as financial temptations seem to recede, for now. A flirtatious encounter could have drained the budget. It may be difficult to maintain composure. The Sun in Leo doubly approaching the trine aspect to Chiron retro in Aries as rationality overcomes weakness, a tendency to overspend in compensation could result. Mars in Virgo seeks to do a service and in a quincunx aspect to Chiron retro in Aries, may also find a rational. The Moon is void-of-course for about 5 and a half hours prior to its ingress to Cancer at 22:53 UT/17:53 EDT.  It is not a good time to finalize agreements, sign contracts, etc., during the void-of-course Moon. The Moon in Cancer and trine aspect to Saturn retro in Pisces late in the day, indicates an accommodating agreement is possible.  

Saturday August 12^th — The Sun is Leo perfects the trine aspect to Chiron retro in Aries, and approaches the conjunction aspect with Venus retro, with a semi-sextile aspect to Mars in Virgo. The indications are for an aggressive peace settlement. The Moon in Cancer makes a sextile aspect to Jupiter in Taurus and then a sextile aspect to Mercury in Virgo, effectively increasing the orb of the trine aspect from Mercury to Jupiter. The threat of a wider war, while negotiating a peace settlement, puts the world on hold. Venus retro separates from the square aspect to Uranus, as tensions ease.

Sunday August 13^th — Mars in a trine aspect to Uranus dominates, as the Moon in Cancer sextile aspect to both Mars in Virgo and Uranus in Taurus, seeks to mediate the increasingly tense situation. Goals are advanced through technology, as a practical matter, warning caution with the rapid deployment of tech weaponry, or rapid developments in AI. The Sun in Leo supersedes the conjunction aspect with Venus retro, semi-sextile aspect to Mars and semi-sextile aspect to the Moon in Cancer, putting restraints on pride and a possible betrayal. The Moon in a square aspect to Chiron in Aries ferrets out the true motivations. The Moon makes a trine aspect to Neptune retro in Pisces, followed by an opposition aspect to Pluto in Capricorn, as empathy confronts organizational power.

Monday August 14^th — The Moon in Leo makes a quincunx aspect to Saturn retro in Pisces midday (US time zones) late in the day in Europe and ME. On a personal level, we can be too proud to recognize painful histories, but need to release the past, perhaps through therapy or meditation. We need to self-heal and move on. Mercury in Virgo makes a quincunx aspect to Chiron retro in Aries, as self-healing techniques are offered. It does take concentrated effort.

Tuesday August 15^th — Venus retro in Leo lingers at the trine aspect to Chiron in Aries, while Mercury in Virgo semi-sextile aspect to Venus and quincunx aspect to Chiron provides technique. The Sun in Leo square aspect to Uranus could help healing through catharsis, releasing negativity, and giving more love to children who are disadvantaged and powerless. The Moon in Leo makes a square aspect to Uranus in Taurus, as material gain may result. The Moon transits Venus retro and conjunction aspect with the Sun at 09:39 UT on Wednesday morning, 05:39 EDT, for the New Moon in Leo. [See chart insert] Uranus in Taurus is square aspect to the New Moon, with unexpected loss or gain, complicating personal lives. A focus on creative powers could provide an opportunity for transformation. Mars in Virgo is trine aspect to Uranus, easing some of the harsh realities of the square aspect, and directing us toward useful solutions. Venus retro is sextile aspect to Ceres in Libra and trine aspect to Chiron, as Ceres makes an opposition aspect to Chiron. The Moon in Leo makes quincunx aspects to Neptune and Pluto, increasing the effect of the sextile aspect between Neptune retro in Pisces and Pluto retro in Capricorn.
