As we wind up this month, and the long summer season, Mars turns direct (apparent) motion. The Moon is in Aries to begin a new cycle, and a new page in historical developments. The death of a warrior turned politician is lauded as the end of an era. As one era ends, another begins. An advocate for a generation has passed, although the seeds of his life’s work, and that of other warriors, can germinate and influence the era now awakening. What seeds have been planted for the coming decades? Astrology offers some clues as to the timing and conflicts that are likely to develop. Earth signs are dominant this week, as environmental issues get a boost. A personal concern for personal health can lead to applying tips for improving hygiene and diet.
Summary of Major Aspects of the Week
Wednesday August 29th – The Moon in Aries today transits to a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Pluto in Capricorn early today. However, this aspect of conflict is followed by Venus In Libra in opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to the Moon, so that a T-square configuration is formed. A harsh judgment (Pluto in Capricorn) is sweetened with an offer of clemency or a promise of a compassionate release. The outcome of this offer is yet in the realm of the power center, however, and may not be forthcoming after all. A transformation depends on a search for a balance (Libra) between advantage and personal gain (Aries). Saturn in Capricorn (prosecution) is yet applying to Uranus in Taurus as the screws tighten on the pending political-criminal cases. The quincunx (150 deg, complex) to Jupiter in Scorpio and trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mercury in Leo could indicate that secrets as well as personal gain are motivating factors. When the final offer is proposed, there would be conditions that need to be met. The consequences of this settlement are both historical and a political precedent. This may be also, for some, a psychologically relevant and a largely unconscious adjustment to circumstances.
Thursday August 30th – As the Moon in Aries is in opposition aspect (180 deg, tense) to Venus in Libra, as the battleground moves from a hidden power to open conflict, with a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mars. Mars in Capricorn in a direct motion promotes action that conforms with accepted standards of the era. As the day wears on, and the conflict deepens, old wounds may be opened. Mercury in Leo, in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Pluto in Capricorn seeks to dramatize the and exploit the situation. More explosive issues re revealed. The Sun in Virgo is disposed of by Mercury in Leo, as critical issues are exposed for greater satisfaction and eventual release of healing powers. The Moon transits into Taurus later in the day, and encounters the conjunction (0 deg, combining) to Uranus. While unexpected events could derail progress, there is a measure of security imposed by the trine aspect (120 de, flowing) from Saturn in Capricorn. Disruptions are contained and/or modified.
Friday August 31st – The Moon in Taurus forms a trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to the Sun in Virgo, as practical measures are taken to overcome stagnation. Remedial measures act as a healing force. Concerns for personal health and diet lead to successful remedial procedures. Ceres in Virgo forms a trine aspect to Mars in Capricorn, reinforcing the earth element of natural healing principles. Economic controls (Saturn in Capricorn) are enforced by institutional powers (Pluto in Capricorn) regulating the economic flow of resources (Moon trine to Sun in Virgo).

Health or finances are likely to be affected, if more ambitious goals are implemented. A quincunx aspect (150 deg, creative) from the Moon to Venus in Libra, the Moon’s dispositor as the lunar orb transits Taurus, promotes a creative means to enjoy life and accept limitations. A balanced view helps to promote a successful outcome. Practical measures overcome adversity. Finally, today the Moon is in a trine aspect to Mars in Capricorn, achieving satisfaction for material gain or progress in regenerating health. The Moon enters Gemini after sunset, as communicative activities are advanced.
Sunday September 2nd – While Saturn in Cap applying to the trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Uranus in Taurus will reach the inevitable conclusion, structures (Saturn) are not completely eradicated (Uranus) as Saturn returns to a direct motion, and releases some of the pressure to overturn existing programs. Compromises help to find a solution to allow for the advancement of social, legal and economic programs. The Moon in Gemini and in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Saturn in Capricorn and semi-sextile to Uranus as we debate the pros and cons of the status quo. Innovative measures could be devised now, or flash gatherings enjoyed.
Monday September 3rd – More subtle aspects today indicate a growth in the underlying connections both personal and social, perhaps universal as well. Mercury in Leo is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Venus in Libra, as many community relations are revived. There is a greater feeling of togetherness and social unity. Ceres in Virgo is trine aspect (120 deg, flowing) to Mars in Capricorn. Production is at an optimal level. Harvests could be preserved, and children are ready to go back to school. Growth seems assured. The Moon in quincunx aspects to both Jupiter in Scorpio and to Pluto in Capricorn, as Jupiter is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. The two planets and the Moon form a Yod configuration. As Jupiter is in Pluto’s sign, a regeneration of relations in social and political fields is produced in response. The Moon aspects connect to a personal feeling of relatedness. The Moon in a trine aspect to Venus and a sextile aspect to Mercury brings the day to a satisfactory close.
Tuesday September 4th – The Moon enters Cancer, it’s sign of rulership, as maternal instincts are strong, and forms an opposing aspect (180 deg, tense) to Saturn in Capricorn as correctness is emphasized for the start of the school year. Chiron, the symbol of the wounded healer, is in a square aspect to the Moon in the first degree of Cancer. Greater participation in molding social institutions and caring for the future of the planet generates more wisdom. The wheels of time and change do not stop. Critical analysis (Virgo) allows for greater innovation and progress to a more evolved social system. Mercury in a quincunx aspect (150 deg, complex) to Mars in Capricorn as innovation produces creative responses.
